A better knowledge of patient flows would improve decision making in health planning. In this article, we propose a method to characterise patients flows and also to highlight profiles of care pathways considering times and costs. From medico-administrative data, we extracted spatio-temporal patterns. Then, we clustered time between hospitalisations and cost trajectories in order to identify profiles of change over time. This approach may support renewed management strategies.

Harlequin syndrome, also known as differential hypoxia (DH) or North-South syndrome, is a serious complication of femoro-femoral venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (V-A ECMO). Moreover, Harlequin syndrome is caused by competing flows between the retrograde oxygenated ECMO output and the anterograde ejection of poorly oxygenated blood from the native heart. In the setting of impaired pulmonary gas exchange, the addition of an Impella device (ECPELLA configuration), although beneficial for ventricular unloading and hemodynamic support, may further exacerbate this competition and precipitate DH.

Image-based modeling is essential for understanding cardiovascular hemodynamics and advancing the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Constructing patient-specific vascular models remains labor-intensive, error-prone, and time-consuming, limiting their clinical applications.
