In this article, we propose a new concordance-assisted learning for estimating optimal individualized treatment regimes. We first introduce a type of concordance function for prescribing treatment and propose a robust rank regression method for estimating the concordance function. We then find treatment regimes, up to a threshold, to maximize the concordance function, named prescriptive index. Finally, within the class of treatment regimes that maximize the concordance function, we find the optimal threshold to maximize the value function. We establish the convergence rate and asymptotic normality of the proposed estimator for parameters in the prescriptive index. An induced smoothing method is developed to estimate the asymptotic variance of the proposed estimator. We also establish the -consistency of the estimated optimal threshold and its limiting distribution. In addition, a doubly robust estimator of parameters in the prescriptive index is developed under a class of monotonic index models. The practical use and effectiveness of the proposed methodology are demonstrated by simulation studies and an application to an AIDS data.

Undifferentiated carcinomas with osteoclast-like giant cells of the pancreaticobiliary tract (UCOGCs) are rare but distinctive tumors with limited literature. To study the clinicopathologic characteristics of UCOGCs including morphology, immunohistochemistry (IHC), management, and survival outcomes. Assessment of 12 patients of UCOGC found over 10 years from a tertiary care oncology center database.

Background: Because of their ecological, aesthetic, and beneficial characteristics, native desert plants are highly significant. They can also be utilized in landscape architecture, particularly in environments with harsh conditions. The present study aims to evaluate the potential utilization of the wild desert plants Pancratium maritimum L.

Nitrogen (N) fixation with non-thermal plasmas has been proposed as a sustainable alternative to meet growing N fertilizer demands for agriculture. This technology generates Plasma Activated Water (PAW) with a range of chemical compositions, including different concentrations of nitrate (NO₃⁻) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), among other compounds. Potential use of PAW as an effective crop fertilizer necessitates a robust understanding of the underlying biology of the plant, which is not yet available.

Extreme climatic events, such as marine heatwaves (MHW) and increased suspended sediment concentration (SSC), are increasing in frequency and intensity, resulting in sudden changes to coastal environments, especially intertidal zones. Intertidal animals experience conditions that substantially fluctuate over temporal and spatial scales and therefore require the ability to physiologically tolerate these fluctuations. Since multiple stressors often co-occur and natural populations tend to respond to local environmental fluctuations, we aimed to investigate individual and combined effects of MHW and increased suspended sedimentation in Forsterygion lapillum from two neighbouring coastal areas with distinct water temperatures and wave current regimes by assessing fish oxygen consumption rate, mortality and weight loss.

Malaria is still one of the most important parasitic diseases with millions of cases reported globally every year. Combination therapies of artemisinin or its derivatives, with a partner drug, are the first-and second-line treatments for malaria. However, recently, artemisinin partial resistance or tolerance has emerged and emphasizes the need for new therapeutic approaches to malaria.
