Article Abstract

Persistent sciatic vein is a rare anomaly of mesodermal development. When found, it is often associated with varicosities in abnormal distributions, pain, limb congestion, and hypertrophy. In this report, we describe a case of an isolated, complete persistent sciatic vein with an atypical anatomy and onset.

Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome (KTS) is a rare congenital disorder characterized by a triad of clinical features: capillary malformations, venous varicosities, and hypertrophy of soft or bony tissues. This case report presents a 1-year-old infant diagnosed with KTS, exhibiting multifocal pelvic, gluteal, and thigh macrocystic lymphatic malformations alongside significant limb overgrowth. The diagnosis was confirmed through clinical evaluation and advanced imaging techniques, including Doppler ultrasound and CT angiography.

Background: Achieving adequate exposure can be difficult in cases of revision total hip arthroplasty (THA). Splitting the gluteus maximus muscle with use of a Kocher-Langenbeck approach is the most common technique when performing a posterior approach to the hip. However, superior exposure of the ilium is limited by the superior gluteal neurovascular bundle (SGB).

Vasculitis presenting with sciatic nerve infarction is a rare and potentially urgent neuromuscular condition requiring timely diagnosis and intervention. We present the case of a previously healthy 30-year-old female who developed sudden-onset left leg pain, tingling, and sensory deficits following hospitalization for presumed urosepsis. Examination revealed weakness and sensory dysfunction in the sciatic nerve distribution, and electrodiagnostic (EDX) studies showed an axonal sciatic neuropathy.

However persistence of Hottentotta tamulus venom in peripheral nerves and subsequent influence on regenerative process of injured peripheral nerve remains unknown. Current study reports the persistence of H.

Proximal femoral fractures are frequent injuries that typically require surgical treatment. A rare complication is iatrogenic injury to the sciatic nerve, often caused by cerclages or suboptimally reduced fracture fragments. Our retrospective study of 224 cases in 39 months revealed an incidence of 1.
