Introduction: New onset Diplopia following orbital decompression in thyroid eye disease patients is estimated to occur in up to 30% to 40% of decompression patients, mostly related to deep lateral and medial wall decompressions.
Methods: A retrospective chart review of all minimally invasive (fat and minimal bone orbital decompression performed at the UCLA Stein Eye Institute between 2005 and 2015. Inclusion criteria were thyroid eye disease patients older than 18 years undergoing fat only orbital decompression with no previous muscle surgery.
Results: The chart review revealed only 5 patients with new onset diplopia after this surgery. The cases are discussed and a possible mechanism for the diplopia is proposed.
Discussion: Double vision following minimally invasive orbital decompression is rare and the mechanisms are poorly understood.

Background: Meningioma en plaque (MEP) is a rare subtype of meningioma with a carpet-like growth pattern, often causing hyperostosis. Even rarer is the presentation of bilateral MEP posing diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. Management of MEP usually entails early complete resection.

Objective: This study presents a comparative analysis of outcomes of lateral orbital wall decompression performed using ultrasonic bone removal with standard and modified techniques.
Material And Methods: The study included 78 patients (109 orbits) with exophthalmos without visual impairment (subgroups 1A and 1B) and with optic neuropathy (ON) due to thyroid eye disease (TED) (subgroups 2A and 2B). Lateral wall decompression (LWD) was performed using ultrasonic bone removal with a modified (=58, patient subgroups 1A and 2A) or standard (=51, subgroups 1B and 2B) technique.

The cerebral lymphatic system plays a critical role in central nervous system (CNS) homeostasis through fluid regulation, toxin clearance, and immune modulation. Recent discoveries in the glial-lymphatic (glymphatic) and meningeal lymphatic systems have demonstrated their involvement in a spectrum of CNS pathologies such as Alzheimer's disease (AD), Parkinson's disease (PD), Huntington's disease (HD), multiple sclerosis (MS), traumatic brain injury (TBI), stroke, and cancers. This review summarizes current understanding of the cerebral lymphatic system's mechanisms and their contribution to CNS health.

To explore the efficacy and safety of endoscopic optic nerve decompression in preschoolers with traumatic optic neuropathy. The clinical data of 10 cases (12 eyes) of traumatic optic neuropathy in preschoolers aged 1-6 years (mean 3.6 years) admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University from 2015 to 2024 were retrospectively analyzed.

Graves' orbitopathy (GO) is a debilitating autoimmune disorder that may require surgical orbital decompression in severe cases with risk of proptosis and optic neuropathy. This report presents a case treated with navigation-assisted three-wall orbital decompression, planned with preoperative imaging and assessed using postoperative analysis. Intraoperative navigation enabled precise localization of critical structures, improving osteotomy execution.
