Defining the Role of Integrins in Melanoblast Migration .

Mol Biol Cell

September 2025

Department of Cellular and Physiological Sciences, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC V6T 1Z3, Canada.

During embryonic development, neural crest-derived melanoblasts, which are precursors of pigment-producing melanocytes, disperse throughout the skin by long-range cell migration that requires adhesion to the ECM. Members of the integrin family of cell-ECM adhesion receptors are thought to contribute to melanocyte migration . However, due to the functional redundancy between different integrin heterodimers, the precise role of integrins in melanoblast migration, as well as the mechanisms that regulate them in this process, especially in contexts, remain poorly understood.

Homogeneous Catalysts for Hydrogenative PHIP Used in Biomedical Applications.

Anal Sens

January 2025

Advanced Imaging Research Center, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, 5323 Harry Hines Blvd., Dallas, TX 75390 United States.

At present, two competing hyperpolarization (HP) techniques, dissolution dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) and parahydrogen (para-H) induced polarization (PHIP), can generate sufficiently high liquid state C signal enhancement for in vivo studies. PHIP utilizes the singlet spin state of para-H to create non-equilibrium spin populations. In hydrogenative PHIP, para-H is irreversibly added to unsaturated precursors, typically in the presence of a homogeneous catalyst.

This paper will present a case study of local responses to the epidemic in immigrant enclaves and majority-black neighborhoods in Atlanta, Georgia. The COVID-19 health crisis presents an unprecedented challenge for many black and brown communities in the United States which may be particularly vulnerable to the contagion because of higher rates of certain pre-existing conditions like heart disease, lack of access to adequate healthcare services, and financial pressures to continue working despite increasingly risky conditions. In the American South where burgeoning ethnic enclaves, well-establish majority-black neighborhoods, and affluent suburbs exist side by side with vastly different healthcare concerns, disorganized governmental responses to the COVID-19 epidemic highlight the importance of efforts by CBOs (i.

Family socioeconomic status is broadly acknowledged to be associated with child development and wellbeing. However, the extent of this association across various dimensions of child development remains a topic of ongoing debate. This study aims to investigate the relationship between parental education and child cognitive and socioemotional skills, as well as the mediating role of children's leisure time activities, including screen time and shared book reading.
