Geniposidic acid alleviated metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease by exciting SIRT6 signaling.

Phytomedicine

October 2025

State Key Laboratory of Traditional Chinese Medicine Syndrome, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, Guangzhou, Guangdong 510405, China. Electronic address:

Background: Due to the absence of disease-modifying treatments and mysterious molecular causes, metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) poses an urgent and unmet clinical need. The active ingredient in Fructus gardenia, geniposidic acid (GPA), has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and hepato-protective properties. However, its effects on MASLD are still unknown.

Background: The escalating burden of falls in China necessitates a detailed examination to elucidate its dynamics and trends. Using data from the Global Burden of Disease Study (GBD) 2021, this research assessed the burden of falls in China.

Methods: Data from GBD 2021 were analyzed using Joinpoint regression to identify long-term trends.

Background: Enteric neuronal loss significantly contributes to gastrointestinal (GI) motility disorders. Electroacupuncture (EA) can promote the regeneration of lost enteric neurons in diabetic mice, but its mechanisms are not fully understood. Nestin/Ngfr cells can function as enteric neural precursor cells (ENPCs) to proliferate and differentiate into enteric neurons in adult mice.

Pharmacogenetic activation of the Mas-related G-protein-coupled receptor b4 (Mrgprb4) neurons in the dorsal root ganglia is positively reinforcing, and these neurons can be activated by innocuous or noxious mechanical stimuli. However, direct evidence regarding the role of these neurons and how they encode diverse somatic inputs remains unclear. To address this, the mild pressure conditioned place preference (MP-CPP) was conducted to evaluate the indispensability of Mrgprb4-lineage neurons in the pleasantness caused by pressure.
