Organic two-dimensional (2D) crystals are fundamentally important for development of future devices. Despite that more than a half of man-made products contain polymers, 2D crystals consisting of long linear chains have yet to be explored. Here we report on the fabrication of 2D polyaniline (PANI) crystals via rational electrochemical polymerization followed by liquid-phase exfoliation. The 2D PANI is molecularly thin (∼0.8 nm) and composed of PANI chains with a number-average molecular weight of ∼31 000. The chains are parallel to each other with the benzene rings standing almost vertically to the surface, implying a face-to-face arrangement of the neighboring chains held together by abundant π-π interactions augmented with hydrogen bonds. The 2D PANI can be readily transferred to various solid surfaces and exhibit interesting electrical and optical properties, suggesting that they would be potentially useful in photoelectronic devices and other applications.

The orientation of MXene flakes has received increasing research attention as it plays a critical role in determining the performance of MXene-based assemblies. Engineering MXene flakes into horizontal or vertical orientations can offer distinct advantages such as higher electrical conductivity, higher mechanical strength, and more efficient ion/molecule transport across the flakes. However, the benefits of horizontal and vertical orientations are mutually exclusive, and both of them possess structural symmetry that restricts their ability for stimuli-responsive deformation.

The crystal structure of entinostat Form B, CHNO, has been solved and refined using laboratory X-ray powder diffraction data, and optimized using density functional techniques. Entinostat crystallizes in space group 2 and the crystal structure consists of inter-locking layers of entinostat mol-ecules parallel to the plane. A strong N-H⋯N hydrogen bond links the mol-ecules into zigzag chains propagating along the -axis direction.

The title compound, CHNO·Br·CBr, consists of one 4-formyl-,-di-methyl-benzenaminium bromide and a tetra-bromo-methane mol-ecule. In the crystal, the bromide ions link 4-formyl-,-di-methyl-benzenaminium moieties through inter-molecular C-H⋯Br and N-H⋯Br hydrogen bonds, while inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link 4-formyl-,-di-methyl-benzenaminium cations, enclosing (18) ring motifs, into a di-periodic network structure. The tetra-bromo-methane mol-ecules fill the spaces between the layers.

The unit cell of the title compound, [Ni(CHNO)]·2CHOH, consists of a neutral complex and two methanol mol-ecules. In the complex, the two tridentate 2-[3-(benzo[][1,3]dioxol-5-yl)-1-1,2,4-triazol-5-yl]-6-(1-pyrazol-1-yl)pyridine ligands coordinate to the central Ni ion through nitro-gen atoms of the pyrazole, pyridine and triazole groups, forming a pseudo-octa-hedral coordination sphere. Neighbouring mol-ecules are linked through weak C-H(pz)⋯π(ph) inter-actions into monoperiodic chains, which are further linked through weak C-H⋯H/N/C inter-actions into diperiodic layers.

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, CHFNO, consists of one mol-ecule in which the pyrimidinyl and anilinyl units exhibit near coplanarity, subtending a dihedral angle of 10.22 (7)°. In contrast, the di-hydro-pyridine and phenyl rings are nearly perpendicular, making angles of 88.
