Purpose Of Review: Modern presbyopia-correcting intraocular lenses (IOLs) offer a potential solution to address the rising postoperative demand and expectations for spectacle independence following cataract surgery. However, IOL calculation and selection becomes more complex when presented with previous corneal refractive surgery (CRS) or co-existing corneal conditions. This review explores the use of presbyopia-correcting IOLs in eyes with co-existing corneal conditions or surgically altered corneas.

Background: Hemi-hamate osteochondral grafting is a surgical technique that is utilized to reconstruct the proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joint in cases of unstable dorsal fracture-dislocation with >50% articular surface involvement. However, hemi-hamate osteochondral grafting can be technically challenging, has been reported to have various technical modifications, and can lead to complications such as overstuffing of the joint. This surgical technique article describes successful PIP joint reconstruction with use of a hemi-capitate osteochondral graft, which may offer a viable alternative to hemi-hamate osteochondral graft.

Background: Obesity is a prevalent and clinically significant complication among individuals with diabetes mellitus (DM), contributing to increased cardiovascular risk, metabolic burden, and reduced quality of life. Despite its high prevalence, the risk factors for obesity within this population remain incompletely understood. With the growing availability of large-scale health datasets and advancements in machine learning, there is an opportunity to improve risk stratification.

Purpose: To show the clinical outcomes after implantation of a diffractive trifocal intraocular lens (IOL) in eyes with previous laser-corneal-refractive-surgery (LCRS) or radial keratotomy (RK).
Methods: Eyes with previous LCRS (LASIK/PRK group) or RK (RK group) implanted with a diffractive trifocal IOL were enrolled in this retrospective study. Refraction and monocular Snellen decimal uncorrected-distance visual acuity (UDVA), corrected-distance visual acuity (CDVA), and uncorrected-near visual acuity (UNVA) were analyzed at 1-year.
