We present a case of a 17-year-old football player who had previously received multiple facet joint injections for presumed secondary osteoarthritis. mTc-methylene diphosphonate single-photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography imaging of the cervical spine demonstrated focal increased radiopharmaceutical activity in the right C2 lamina, which was associated with an osteolytic lesion with a central irregular sclerotic nidus. Surgical pathology confirmed an osteoid osteoma.

Background: The role of the sympathetic nervous system in bone metabolism remains unclear. Given that Tc-methylene diphosphonate ([Tc]Tc-MDP) uptake reflects active bone formation and mineralization, this study aims to investigate the effects of sympathetic denervation on bone formation in rats using [Tc]Tc-MDP SPECT/CT imaging.
Materials And Methods: Twenty rats were randomly assigned to a superior cervical ganglionectomy (SCGx) group (n = 10) or a sham-operated control group (n = 10).

Cardiac function assessment using Tc-DPD ECG-gated SPECT (G-SPECT) in ATTR amyloidosis is underexplored. This study evaluates left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and left ventricular end-diastolic volume (LVEDV) with G-SPECT, comparing results to transthoracic echocardiogram (TTE) and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR). A regression model obtained comparing G-SPECT and CMR was used to independently predict CMR LVEF from G-SPECT.

Background: Technetium-99m-labeled 3,3-diphosphono-1,2-propanodicarboxylic acid (Tc-DPD) scintigraphy is a critical part of the validated nonbiopsy diagnostic algorithm for transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM). With the advent of novel disease-modifying therapies for ATTR-CM, there is intense interest in establishing the utility of DPD scans as an indicator of treatment response.
Objectives: The authors conducted a retrospective multimodality imaging study to determine the utility of Tc-DPD to track treatment response in ATTR-CM.

Background: This report describes a rare case of a small gastric cancer lesion with widespread bone metastases and markedly elevated alkaline phosphatase levels that was initially misdiagnosed as rheumatoid arthritis, as the patient's sole clinical manifestation was chronic bone pain persisting for 1 year.
Case Summary: An 83-year-old man was admitted due to worsening generalized joint pain over 1 year. Serum alkaline phosphatase levels were markedly elevated, and technetium-99m methylene diphosphonate single-photon emission computed tomography (CT) and fluorine-18 sodium fluoride positron emission tomography (PET)/CT images showed symmetrical diffuse uptake of the radiotracers throughout the skeleton.

We present a case of an 11-year-old boy who presented with a 2-month history of low back pain, with no preceding medical conditions or underlying diseases reported. Initial diagnostic evaluation with a 3-phase bone scan revealed a focal area of uptake posterior to the L5 vertebra, which was confirmed by subsequent SPECT/CT imaging to be a reactive change associated with a narrow defect in the spinous process of the L5 vertebra, consistent with spina bifida occulta (SBO). This case highlights the ability of bone scans to uncover missed diagnoses of reactive changes at a typically nonsymptomatic anomaly such as SBO.
