The Kennedy Class I and II distal extension situation poses a challenge to the prosthodontist as it inherently possesses a lack of stability, which may be attributed to the difference in compressibility of the mucosa and the periodontal ligament surrounding the distal-most abutment tooth. This results in a rotational tendency of the prosthesis around the line connecting its terminal abutments. Placement of osseointegrated dental implants in the posterior edentulous regions, distal to the terminal abutment provides improved vertical support to the distal extension removable partial denture, effectively converting its intraoral performance from a Kennedy Class I to a Class III situation, thereby resulting in improved stability of the prosthesis and consequently, enhanced patient satisfaction. This case report describes such an approach to the restoration of a Kennedy Class I partially edentulous situation.

Objectives: To develop a data harmonization framework for neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) studies and demonstrate its suitability for prognostic biomarker development.
Materials And Methods: Variables were first categorized by chronological stages and then by medical topics. We created a dictionary to harmonize variable names and value coding.

Objectives: There is growing interest in evaluating new strategies to delay or prevent post-traumatic osteoarthritis (PTOA) in individuals who have sustained anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. This study sought to determine characteristics of potential treatments that are acceptable to patients with ACL injury.
Methods: Participants with a history of ACL injury were recruited from Reddit, Facebook, and ResearchMatch.

Natural killer (NK) cells are a crucial part of the innate immune system and serve as an important effector for killing tumor cells through direct cytolytic activity or immunomodulatory signaling to T cells and antigen presenting cells. NK cells are correlated with increased tumor control and better overall patient survival across various types of cancers including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Despite their promising potential for anti-tumor killing, NK cell function is often diminished within the tumor microenvironment.

Background Pre-medical admission factors, such as undergraduate science grade point average (GPA) and the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT), have been extensively studied to predict success in medical school and improve admissions processes. However, the first semester of medical school is critical for student retention and success and is often overlooked by studies that focus on end-of-program success. We analyzed several pre-admission factors to predict student performance on the challenging courses of anatomical sciences and molecular medicine in the first fall semester at an osteopathic medical school.
