Lymphoma-associated hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (LA-HLH) is a life-threatening hyperinflammatory syndrome, and hierarchical management based on a prognostic model is important. The endothelial activation and stress index (EASIX) score has demonstrated prognostic utility in recipients of allogeneic stem cell transplantation and chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy. However, its role in LA-HLH remains unestablished.

This study investigates the reparative effect of electroacupuncture on myocardial fibrosis (MF) in mice and explores its impact on intestinal flora and metabolism profile. This examines an investigation into the biological mechanisms underlying electroacupuncture's efficacy in treating MF in mice. Twenty-four male Kunming mice (27-34 g) were randomized into three groups: normal control (NC, = 8), MF model (MF, = 8), and electroacupuncture treatment (EA, = 8).

Purpose: Previous studies have shown that serum uric acid (UA) levels are significantly higher in patients with bipolar disorder (BD) than in patients with depressive disorder (DD), schizophrenia, and healthy controls. Currently, studies generally report that there is a complex bidirectional interaction between mood disorders (MD) and hyperuricemia (HUA). We investigated the prevalence and related factors of hyperuricemia in Chinese patients with mood disorders to find out potential mechanisms and build a predictive model.

Pyridoxine-dependent epilepsy (PDE) is a rare, autosomal recessive neurometabolic disorder characterized by intractable seizures responsive to pyridoxine. We present the case of an 11-day-old female neonate with a history of refractory multifocal seizures beginning on day three of life, accompanied by hepatomegaly, metabolic acidosis, elevated serum ammonia and lactate, and abnormal liver function tests. Despite multiple antiepileptic and metabolic treatments, seizures persisted, and the infant developed progressive metabolic disturbances.

Objectives: This study investigated the cardioprotective effects of stachydrine (STA) in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced septic mice and H9c2 cardiomyocytes, focusing on its anti-apoptotic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-ferroptotic actions.
Methods: We established an LPS-induced sepsis model in mice and an LPS-stimulated H9c2 cardiomyocyte model in vitro.
Results: STA markedly reduced LPS-induced myocardial apoptosis, as demonstrated by decreased TUNEL-positive cells, and attenuated the elevation of serum cardiac injury markers, including creatine kinase-MB (CK-MB), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), brain natriuretic peptide (BNP), cardiac troponin I (cTnI), and cardiac troponin T (cTnT) levels.
