In this case example, the use of direct composite resin allowed for a relatively simple, conservative treatment that provided excellent function and aesthetics, while preserving healthy dental tissue. The importance of continued follow-up and a periodic maintenance and minor repair process will ensure longevity of the restorations, as aesthetics, and the occlusion.

Histological preparation paraffin embedding is the gold standard method for evaluating tissue structure and composition, whether it is originated from biopsy or engineered . Quite often, deformation and shrinkage occur during the histological preparation, which are difficult to predict and qualify. The present study investigates the morphometric changes in bioprinted hydrogels composed of alginate and gelatine, common tissue engineering materials, focusing on three morphologies: full slabs, porous slabs, and porous cubes.

Wastewater solids management is a key contributor to the operational cost and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of water resource recovery facilities (WRRFs). This study proposes a 'waste-to-energy' strategy using a hydrothermal liquefaction (HTL)-based system to displace conventional energy- and emission-intensive practices. The proposed system directs HTL-produced biocrude to oil refineries and recovers regionally tailored nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers.

Distinctive polymer brushes (PBs) play a crucial role in providing a nonpreferential (neutral) surface for vertical orientation of block copolymers (BCPs). This bottom-up approach effectively aligns the formation of vertical lamellar and cylinder lattice structures from the BCP, which is crucial for nanopatterning and other applications. In conventional BCP self-assembly techniques, random copolymer brushes are commonly employed to achieve substrate neutrality.

Sodium-ion batteries are promising candidates for large-scale energy storage due to their low cost and resource abundance. However, their cathode materials suffer from poor conductivity and limited cycling stability. Here, we report a Prussian blue (PB)-based cathode hybridized with carboxyl-functionalized carbon nanotubes (CNTs) via a glutamic acid-assisted in situ coordination route.

Certain pathogenic microorganisms present in nest environments may compromise avian health through direct infection of both adult birds and their offspring, ultimately leading to reduced reproductive success. However, there is a lack of systematic research on the changes in the microbial environment within the nest during the nest-building stages, where nest-building activities may exert a positive impact on the associated microbial communities.
