Hansen's disease is on the verge of being eliminated from India and often missed by clinicians due to low index of suspicion. We present an unusual case in which greater auricular nerve thickening masqueraded as enlarged lymph node in the neck. The patient was referred for fine needle aspiration cytology, which revealed epithelioid cell granulomas suggestive of Hansen's disease. Further clinical examination and investigations including the skin biopsy confirmed the disease, highlighting the role of pathologist in the management of such unusual presentation of a common disease.

Negative symptoms in treatment-resistant schizophrenia (TRS) are notably persistent and minimally affected by antipsychotics, the transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation (taVNS) is a promising treatment approach. However, clinical trials are scarce, and further efficacy data are needed. We conducted a double-blind, sham-controlled, randomized clinical trial to determine the efficacy and safety of taVNS as an add-on treatment for patients with TRS with predominantly negative symptoms and to investigate potential biomarkers of efficacy.

Accurate sleep staging is crucial for the early diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases and the management of sleep disorders. To provide a user-friendly, non-intrusive, and long-term monitoring solution, we explored the potential clinical applications of ear-electroencephalogram (ear-EEG). This study proposes a probabilistic ensemble learning approach for automatic sleep staging using single-channel ear-EEG data.

Objectives: Various studies have described anatomical variations of the auriculotemporal nerve (ATN), starting with its initial nerve roots and relationship to the middle meningeal artery (MMA). Despite its crucial role in innervating various regions, the precise anatomical course of ATN and its variants remains uncertain. This study aims to provide a comprehensive review of the ATN, including its anatomical course, variations, and clinical significance, particularly in relation to head and neck surgery.
