Acute lung injury (ALI) is a major contributor to the high morbidity and mortality associated with intestinal ischemia-reperfusion (II/R). Despite its severity, current clinical management of ALI remains limited to supportive care without addressing the cause of the disease, underscoring the urgent need to investigate the underlying mechanism and develop targeted therapies. In this study, we employed both in vitro and in vivo models to explore ALI in the setting of II/R.

To present the first real-world safety data describing the clinical experience of geographic atrophy (GA) treatment with avacincaptad pegol in a large cohort. A retrospective, observational cohort study was conducted within the PRISM Vision Group by filtering for J codes for avacincaptad pegol from August 3, 2023, to October 10, 2024. The study included 461 eyes of 335 patients with GA who were treated with intravitreal avacincaptad pegol 2 mg (0.

Astrocytes play a crucial role in ensuring neuronal survival and function. In stroke, astrocytes trigger the unfolded protein response (UPR) to restore endoplasmic reticulum homeostasis. Mesencephalic astrocyte-derived neurotrophic factor (MANF), a newly identified endoplasmic reticulum stress-induced neurotrophic factor, attenuates cerebral ischemic injury by reducing inflammatory responses.

Background: Cisplatin (DDP) is a clinical first-line chemotherapy drug for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), but treatment is often ineffective due to drug resistance. Yes-associated protein 1 (YAP1) is a critical regulator/factor in HCC tumor progression. Our previous research showed that DDP promoted the expression of YAP1 in mice bearing H22 cell in situ liver tumors, which might be related to the poor therapeutic effect of DDP.

Introduction: The pathological mechanism of sepsis-related acute lung injury (ALI) is closely linked to mitochondrial dysfunction and pyroptosis. Although low-dose extracorporeal shock wave (SW) therapy has been widely utilized in tissue and organ injury repair, its role in sepsis-related ALI remains unclear. This study aimed to elucidate the regulatory mechanisms of SW on mitochondrial pyroptosis crosstalk in septic ALI.
