We present the analytic expression of the stress correlation (SC) function for the ubiquitous hydration water layer (HWL) using the Green-Kubo equation and the shear modulus of HWL. The SC function is then experimentally obtained by measuring the viscoelastic properties of HWL using shear-mode dynamic force spectroscopy. Interestingly, the SC changes sign from positive to negative as the HWL thickness increases, where the shear stresses acting on the HWLs bound to two nearby surfaces are out of phase. We also suggest that the repulsive hydration force originates from the SC of HWL. Our results provide the first demonstration of the microscopic understanding of the HWL viscoelasticity and may allow a deeper insight on the HWL dynamics as well as the complex liquids.

Heatwaves have increased in frequency, intensity, duration, and spatial extent, posing a serious threat to socioeconomic development, natural ecosystems and human health worldwide. Assessments of trends in heatwave locations (HWL) have been hindered by the distinct regional characteristics of heatwaves across continents. Here we identify a consistent striking equatorward migration in the average latitudinal location of heatwaves occurrence over the period 1979-2023 based on various datasets.

Introduction: Health warning labels (HWLs) are used across several regulatory spaces to warn consumers about potentially harmful products. The study goal was to assess US adults' public opinions about HWL policies on social media in general, and for commercial tobacco/nicotine products specifically, in response to a call from the US Surgeon General on HWL policies on social media. This study examined support by political party affiliation.

Background: Intraoperative electron radiation therapy (IOERT) relies on accurate and precise dose delivery to the tumor or tumor bed using mobile accelerators and interchangeable applicators, while critical organs are typically displaced or shielded during surgery. Treatment planning and linac commissioning are often based on water measurements, Monte Carlo (MC) simulations of the accelerator head and applicator system provide detailed insights into dose distributions and beam characteristics, offering additional support for clinical evaluation.
Purpose: This study develops an MC model of the Liac HWL mobile accelerator using a hypothetical linac head geometry, due to the limited availability of detailed information on its internal components resulting from manufacturer disclosure policies.

Aims: To investigate the influence of health-oriented nutrient content claims (NCC; e.g. 140 calories) and a health warning label (HWL) depicting cancer risks on consumer product perceptions of ready-to-drink (RTD) alcoholic beverages, including potential differences in subgroups.

Aims: Fracture-related infection (FRI) is a relatively common and severe complication following operatively managed fractures. Patients with pelvic and acetabular fractures (PAFs) are a high-risk patient group, represent high injury severity, and are often polytraumatized. The aims of this study are to characterize a population-based cohort of patients with PAF complicated by FRI, to identify factors associated with the development of FRI and estimate the health economic burden.
