Polymeric acids and their copolymer-based microspheres constitute a critical platform for extended and controlled-release drug delivery systems. However, the precipitated drug crystals (commonly termed "quick sand" phenomenon) during microsphere fabrication significantly limits their application for specific drug molecules, leading to suboptimal drug loading (DL) and encapsulation efficiency (EE) in final products. In this study, dezocine-loaded microspheres (Dez-Ms) were fabricated using microfluidic reactor technology.

Postoperative pain can produce a variety of adverse reactions, prolong postoperative recovery time and length of hospital stay and increase medical costs. Postoperative analgesia methods are different; dezocine combined with sufentanil is one such method, but its the efficacy remains uncertain. Therefore, we investigated the clinical efficacy and medical costs of dezocine combined with sufentanil for postoperative analgesia.

Background: Adding μ-opioid receptor agonists to local anesthetics are usually used for labor analgesia, while they are associated with pruritus. Kappa opioid agonists (dezocine) are widely used for pain management. Recently, they have emerged as a novel type of potent antipruritic agents.

Background: Hepatic artery infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) is a widely used local therapeutic approach for intermediate to advanced-stage hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), exhibiting considerable efficacy. However, the prevalence of postoperative pain highlights the importance of pain management. Owing to the limitations inherent in existing pain management strategies, this study investigates and assesses the analgesic effectiveness of a multimodal treatment protocol in mitigating pain after HAIC procedures.
