We present the evaluation of an electromagnetic position tracking system for use with virtual bronchoscopy systems. Our system utilises a planar magnetic coil array and commercially available search coil sensors. Experimental results show the EM tracking accuracy to be in the range of 11.5mm, which is comparable to both commercial and research systems. The use of a bench-top breathing lung model is used to verify system operation in the in vitro setting. A novel fiducial-free registration method is implemented to reduce errors resulting from inaccurate landmark identification commonly associated with point-based registration. After registration, there is good agreement between the measured position of the sensor probe during endoscopic navigation and the lung airways as visualised in a 3D model of the phantom.

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) impairs attention and executive function, often through disrupted coordination between cognitive and autonomic systems. While electroencephalography (EEG) and pupillometry are widely used to assess neural and autonomic responses independently, little is known about how these systems interact in TBI. Understanding their coordination is essential to identify compensatory mechanisms that may support attention under conditions of neural inefficiency.

Introduction: Simple screening tools are critical for assessing Alzheimer's disease (AD)-related pre-dementia changes. This study investigated longitudinal scores from the Quick Dementia Rating System (QDRS), a brief study partner-reported measure, in relation to baseline levels of the AD biomarker plasma pTau217 in individuals unimpaired at baseline.
Methods: Data from the Wisconsin Registry for Alzheimer's Prevention (N = 639) were used to examine whether baseline plasma pTau217 (ALZpath assay on Quanterix platform) modified QDRS or Preclinical Alzheimer's Cognitive Composite (PACC3) trajectories (mixed-effects models; time = age).

Unlabelled: Spices play a ubiquitous role in the food industry, imparting distinctive flavors and exhibiting antibacterial properties. Nonetheless, microbial contamination and residues present persistent challenges to food safety within this sector. The systematic tracking of microbial input datasets in spices holds significant guiding implications and economic value for microbial control and risk assessment in the food industry.

Contactless human-machine interfaces (C-HMIs) are revolutionizing artificial intelligence (AI)-driven domains, yet face application limitations due to narrow sensing ranges, environmental fragility, and structural rigidity. To address these obstacles, we developed a flexible photonic C-HMI (Flex-PCI) using flexible visible-blind near-infrared organic photodetectors. In addition to its unprecedented performance across key metrics, including broad detection range (0.

Modular cloning systems streamline laboratory workflows by consolidating genetic 'parts' into reusable and modular collections, enabling researchers to fast-track strain construction. The GoldenBraid 2.0 modular cloning system utilizes the cutting property of type IIS restriction enzymes to create defined genetic 'grammars', which facilitate the reuse of standardized genetic parts and assembly of genetic parts in the right order.
