Background: Mitral regurgitation (MR) may rarely worsen after transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) due to mechanical interference from the transcatheter heart valve (THV). Standard surgical approaches in these cases are often challenging due to anatomical constraints. Thus, there is a need for the development of effective alternatives to address this issue.

Epidemiology, IQVIA, Frankfurt, Germany.
Aims: To examine the association between elevated body mass index (BMI) and a wide range of vascular and cardiometabolic diseases in men and women.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective cohort study used data from the IQVIA Disease Analyzer database, comprising anonymized records from over 3000 office-based physicians in Germany. We included 233 730 patients aged ≥40 years with at least one recorded BMI measurement between January 2005 and December 2023.

Department of Diagnostic Radiology, National Cancer Center Hospital, Japan.
Purpose: To determine how the anatomical morphology of the left subclavian artery and aortic arch affects the technical difficulty of navigating the aortic arch during left transradial access for visceral vascular interventions.
Material And Methods: We retrospectively evaluated 98 patients who underwent visceral vascular interventions using left transradial access from January 2022 to December 2022. Cannulation of the descending aorta was considered difficult when the time required to manipulate the catheter in the aortic arch exceeded 30 seconds.

Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is a preferred treatment option for many patients with severe aortic stenosis, but concerns exist regarding safety in patients with nickel allergy due to metallic valve frames. We report a series of 7 patients with a history of nickel allergy who underwent TAVR. Preprocedural allergy evaluation varied, including patch testing or direct skin contact with valve fragments.
