Article Abstract

A series of improvements to the standard solid phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) process allowing for significant gains in product purity along with only a 4 min standard cycle time and a 90% reduction in total waste produced is reported. For example, syntheses of the well-known (65-74)acyl carrier protein (ACP) and (1-42)β-amyloid peptides were accomplished with 93 and 72% purity (UPLC-MS) in only 44 and 229 min, respectively.

Construction of Zeolite Framework-Anchored Rh-(O-Zn) Sites for Ethylene Hydroformylation.

Zeolite-confined Rh-based catalysts have emerged as promising heterogeneous candidates for olefin hydroformylation. However, they face challenges of reactant- and product-induced Rh leaching and aggregation. Herein, zeolite framework-anchored Rh-(O-Zn) sites were designed and are shown to have remarkable activity and stability for gas-phase ethylene hydroformylation.

Lead-free electroceramics have attracted significant research interest as alternatives to lead-containing systems due to concerns related to lead's toxicity to human health and the environment. Solid solutions based on bismuth sodium titanate (BNT) and barium titanate (BT), particularly those with compositions near the morphotropic phase boundary (MPB), such as 0.94 BiNaTiO-0.

Quasi-one-dimensional magnets can host an ordered longitudinal spin-density wave state (LSDW) in magnetic field at low temperature, when longitudinal correlations are strengthened by Ising anisotropies. In the S=1/2 Heisenberg antiferromagnet YbAlO_{3} this happens via Ising-like interchain interactions. Here, we report the first experimental observation of magnetization plateaux at 1/5 and 1/3 of the saturation value via thermal transport and magnetostriction measurements in YbAlO_{3}.

Dimensionality-Driven Anomalous Metallic State with Zero-Field Nonreciprocal Transport in Layered Ising Superconductors.

The anomalous metal state (AMS), observed in "failed" superconductors, provides insights into superconductivity and quantum criticality, with studies revealing unconventional quantum phases like the Bose metal. Recently, layered transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) superconductors approaching the two-dimensional limit have garnered significant attention for the enhanced phase fluctuations and electronic correlations. Investigating AMSs in these systems, particularly in the absence of an external magnetic field, could offer valuable insights into the dimensionality-driven emergence of exotic quantum phenomena, including triplet Cooper pairing, phase fluctuation dynamics, and especially the recently discovered field-free superconducting diode effects.

Single crystal x-ray diffraction measurements have been carried out on epsilon oxygen up to 30 GPa to examine the behavior of the constituent (O_{2})_{4} units. An isostructural phase transition is evidenced by lattice parameter and intracluster (O_{8}) distance discontinuities and clear changes in the equation of state at 18.1±0.
