A rare-earth free red emitting β-Zn3B2O6:Mn(2+) phosphor was prepared by a solid-state reaction method. The crystal structure, photoluminescent and cathodoluminescent properties of β-Zn3B2O6:Mn(2+) were systematically investigated. The absorption and photoluminescence excitation spectra confirm that β-Zn3B2O6:Mn(2+) matches the UV LED chip. Under UV light and low-voltage electron beam excitations, an interesting orange-red emission band centered at ∼600 nm of Mn(2+) at the tetrahedral Zn(2+) sites is observed. Besides, the unusual red shift with increasing Mn(2+) content is also found and contributed to an exchange interaction between Mn(2+). In addition, under low-voltage excitation, β-Zn3B2O6:Mn(2+) exhibits higher color purity of 98.1% than that of the commercial ZnS:Ag,Cd yellow phosphor and reported ZnGeN2:Mn(2+) orange phosphor, which indicated the β-Zn3B2O6:Mn(2+) has a patenting application in FEDs.

Quantum-confined perovskites represent an emerging class of materials with great potential for optoelectronic applications. Specifically, zero-dimensional (0D) perovskites have garnered significant attention for their unique excitonic properties. However, achieving phase-pure, size-tunable 0D perovskite materials and gaining a clear understanding of their photophysical behavior remains challenging.

Circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) has emerged as a critical technology for anticounterfeiting and optical display applications due to its unique chiroptical properties. We report a multicolor CPL-emitting elastomeric film (P37/PSK@SiO-PDMS) that synergistically combines chiral helical polyacetylene (P37) and a surface-engineered perovskite (PSK@SiO) through hydrogen-bond-directed assembly. Confinement within the PDMS matrix drives P37 to self-assemble into a chiral supramolecular structure through hydrogen bonding, inducing a chiroptical inversion.

This study reports the synthesis and functionalization of poly-(-vinylcarbazole) (PVK) with anthracene units to enhance its blue photoluminescence properties. Structural and thermal analyses confirmed successful incorporation of anthracene moieties into the PVK backbone at an approximate 3:1 ratio of PVK repeat unit to anthracene. Photophysical characterization showed that anthracene-functionalized PVK (PVK-An) retained blue-region emission (432 nm), although with reduced emission efficiency due to π-π stacking interactions.

However, multilayer MoS is largely overlooked because of its optically inactive indirect bandgap caused by interlayer coupling. It is highly desirable to modulate and decrease the interlayer coupling so that each layer in multilayer MoS can exhibit a monolayer-like direct-gap behavior.

Here, 0D metal halides RbBiCl have achieved a transition from nonluminescence to effective self-trapped excitons (STEs) emission after Sb ion doping at room temperature. The femtosecond transient absorption spectrum reveals the nonradiative recombination was suppressed, whose lifetimes change from 93.
