Artificial intelligence (AI) methods in hepatology have proliferated since the mid-2010s, with numerous publications and some regulatory approvals. Yet, adoption of AI methods in real-world clinical practice and clinical research remains limited. Despite clear benefits of using AI to analyze complex data types in hepatology, such as histopathology, radiology images, multi-omics and more recently, natural language patient data, there are still substantial barriers and challenges to its integration into routine clinical workflows.

Background: Assisted vaginal birth is a lifesaving procedure where health workers use special devices to expedite birth vaginally when some complications emerge, such as due to prolonged labor. When the use of assisted vaginal birth is possible and appropriate, it provides benefits over cesarean section. These benefits include shorter recovery, reduced hospital stays, lower risks of complications, cost savings, and greater likelihood of vaginal birth in future pregnancies.

Background: Uncertainty exists regarding the health-related quality of life (HRQL) benefits of food allergen oral immunotherapy (OIT). Up-to-date meta-analyses incorporating HRQL data from recent randomised trials are lacking.
Methods: Systematic searches of MEDLINE, Embase, CENTRAL and Google Scholar were conducted for food OIT randomised trials (versus any comparator) that measured HRQL with a validated instrument (27 July 2023).

The synthesis of biomass-derived nanocarbons via ball milling has emerged as an innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective strategy in the field of nanotechnology. This review comprehensively explores the principles, mechanisms, and process parameters that influence the production of high-quality nanocarbons from biomass using ball milling. This process efficiently transforms biomass residues into nanoscale carbon, including graphene, carbon nanotubes, and nanofibers, with tunable physicochemical properties tailored for advanced applications.

Many plants are defended from herbivory by costly insect mutualists. Understanding positive associations between plants and mutualists requires a whole-plant perspective including roots. We hypothesized that root surface area increases with mutualist activity (to a saturation threshold) and recent rainfall but that this relationship shifts when herbivores are excluded.
