Differential centrifugal sedimentation (DCS) has been applied to accurately size ligand-protected gold hydrosols in the 10 to 50 nm range. A simple protocol is presented to correct for particle density variations due to the presence of the ligand shell, which is formed here by either polyethylene glycol-substituted alkane thiols (PEG-alkane thiols) of different chain length or oligopeptides. The method gives reliable data for all particle sizes investigated and lends itself to rapid routine sizing of nanoparticles. Unlike TEM, DCS is highly sensitive to small changes in the thickness of the organic ligand shell and can be applied to monitor shell thickness variations of as little as 0.1 nm on particles of a given core size.

In the current in vitro experiment, we fabricated and characterized placenta/platelet-rich plasma (PL/Pt) composite scaffolds and evaluated their effect on differentiating adipose stem cells (ASCs) into insulin-producing cells (IPCs) in vitro. The human placenta (PL) was decellularized (dPL), characterized, and digested in pepsin. PRP was extracted using a two-step centrifugation process and then freeze-dried.

Objective(s): In this pilot study, exosomes from saliva were isolated and tested for the presence of metabolomic biomarkers for physiological external root resorption and/or pathological alveolar bone resorption.
Settings And Sample Population: Saliva samples of 20 individuals in the mixed dentition stage of dental development.
Materials And Methods: Saliva was obtained from healthy control children with resorbing primary teeth or children with localised aggressive periodontitis (LAP) showing alveolar bone loss but little root resorption.

Cultivating fat for edible tissue presents significant challenges, due to the high costs associated with growth and differentiation factors, alongside the poor viability of adipocytes resulting from cell clustering. Additionally, there is a gap in research regarding the rapid accumulation of fats within cells. To that end, this study presents the development of a biodegradable soy protein colloidosome system for an efficient application: direct delivery of oils into bovine satellite cells, enabling rapid intracellular fat accumulation without the need for adipogenic differentiation.

A moon jellyfish () is a representative of the phylum Cnidaria, commonly found in the northern seas of the globe. The regenerative abilities of cnidarians have recently been associated with extracellular vesicles (EVs) secreted by these organisms. In this study, a method for the isolation of EVs from the oral arms of is presented.
