Hemipyrellia ligurriens (Diptera: Calliphoridae) is a forensically important blow fly species presented in many countries. In this study, we determined the morphology of all stages and the developmental rate of H. ligurriens reared under natural ambient conditions in Phitsanulok province, northern Thailand. Morphological features of all stages based on observing under a light microscope were described and demonstrated in order to use for identification purpose. Moreover, development time in each stage was given. The developmental time of H. ligurriens to complete metamorphosis; from egg, larva, pupa to adult, took 270.71 h for 1 cycle of development. The results from this study may be useful not only for application in forensic investigation, but also for study in its biology in the future.

Diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) poses significant challenges in reproductive health, with emerging evidence implicating DNA damage repair pathways. While GADD45A is a critical regulator of DNA repair, cell cycle and apoptosis, its role in DOR pathogenesis remains unexplored. We employed transcriptome sequencing, qPCR and Western Blot analyses to compare GADD45A expression in granulosa cells (GCs) between DOR patients and controls.

Glutamine: fructose-6-phosphate aminotransferase (GFAT) is the first rate-limiting enzyme in the hexosamine biosynthetic pathway, which plays a crucial role in various biological processes, including chitin metabolism in insects. Locusta migratoria, a widespread and highly destructive agricultural pest, poses a significant threat due to its rapid reproduction and long-distance migration. In this study, we identified and characterized LmGFAT as a key regulator of locust development.

Background: Patients with secondary hip osteoarthritis due to developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) often have abnormal femoral morphology, making stem design critical for long-term outcomes. The FMS-anatomic stem previously demonstrated favourable mid-term results. Its successor, the Anatomic Fit stem, was developed with a reduced hydroxyapatite-coated area to enhance proximal load transfer and a narrower lateral flare to facilitate insertion.

Unlabelled: Long-term lead exposure damages the central nervous system, with chronic poisoning strongly linked to intellectual developmental disability (IDD) and disproportionately affecting children and adolescents. Using the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) 2021 database, this study analyzed temporal, spatial, and population-specific trends in lead-attributable IDD burden among global children/adolescents (1990-2021) and projected trends to 2040 to inform global public health strategies. GBD 2021 data characterized global, regional, and national distributions of lead-attributable IDD burden.

Background: KCNQ2 developmental and epileptic encephalopathy (KCNQ2-DEE) is a rare pediatric disorder characterized by seizures and neurodevelopmental impairments. Parent- and healthcare professional (HCP)-reported outcomes regarding the impacts of seizures and neurodevelopmental impairments may guide the design of clinically meaningful KCNQ2-DEE outcome measures.
Methods: Parents of children with KCNQ2-DEE (N = 53) and HCPs with KCNQ2-DEE expertise (N = 2) participated in qualitative interviews exploring signs, symptoms, and impacts of KCNQ2-DEE, and how varying KCNQ2-DEE phenotypes affect child development.
