The kinetics of novel dynamic libraries that operate via reversible replication is described. In these systems, selective product formation is governed by peptides autocatalytic efficiency and by differences in their unfolding stability. We suggest ways to significantly alter the network behavior by chemical inputs (templates) or physical triggers (light).

Objective: This study investigated the locations of amino acid modifications within two major human hair keratins (Type I K31 and Type II K85) with probable implications for protein and hair structural component integrity. The particular focus was on cysteine modifications that disrupt intra-protein and inter-protein disulphide bonds.
Methods: Human hair was exposed to accelerated, sequential heat or UV treatments, simulating effects resulting from the use of heated styling tools and environmental exposure over a time frame approximating one year.

Silver nanoprisms (AgNPrs) are promising candidates for surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) due to their strong localized surface plasmon resonance and sharp tip geometry. In this study, AgNPrs were synthesized through a photochemical method by irradiating spherical silver nanoparticle seeds with 10 W green light-emitting diodes (LEDs; 520 ± 20 nm) for various periods of time up to 72 h. The growth mechanism was investigated through ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy, field-emission scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and transmission electron microscopy analyses, confirming the gradual transformation of spherical seeds into AgNPrs.

Naomaohu lignite (NL) from Hami, Xinjiang, was ultrasonically extracted with a mixed solvent of CS and acetone (in equal volumes) to obtain the extract residue (ER). The ER was then separated based on density differences with CCl to yield the corresponding light residue (NL-L). The composition and structural characteristics of the light residue were characterized by proximate, ultimate, infrared, and thermogravimetric analyses (TG-DTG).

The reversible covalent bond formation that underpins dynamic covalent chemistry (DCC) enables the construction of stimuli-responsive systems and the efficient assembly of complex architectures. While most DCC studies have focused on systems at thermodynamic equilibrium, there is growing interest in systems that operate away from equilibrium-either by shifting to a new free-energy landscape in response to a stimulus, or by accessing an out-of-equilibrium state following an energy input. Imine-based systems are especially attractive due to the accessibility of their building blocks and their dynamic behavior in both condensation and transimination reactions.
