Sacrocolpopexy, be it laparoscopic or abdominal, is associated with a risk of mesh extrusion. We report an interesting case of mesh extrusion with subsequent removal of the mesh from the vagina by the patient. We take this opportunity to review the literature regarding incidence, predisposing factors and complications of sacrocolpopexy mesh extrusion with specific reference to this case.

Aim: To present surgical outcomes of transvaginal mesh surgery for pelvic organ prolapse (POP) without the blind maneuver, followed up 1 year or more.
Methods: This retrospective study included 140 consecutive women with a mean age of 77.6 years.

Introduction And Hypothesis: The new urethral ligament plication (ULP) operation for curing SUI is tape free. Instead of using a tape, the pubourethral ligament (PUL) is prevented from lengthening to cause urine loss on effort by a single collagen-creating polyester suture that confines all four branches of the PUL and adds new collagen to strengthen the ligaments. Its anatomical basis is identical to that for the midurethral sling (MUS).

Background: Biodegradable orthopaedic implants have emerged as an innovative alternative to traditional permanent metallic or inert polymer implants, aiming to provide mechanical support during critical healing phases and subsequently degrade in vivo. Their primary advantage lies in eliminating the need for a second surgery to remove hardware, thus potentially reducing patient morbidity and healthcare costs. Despite these benefits, challenges related to unpredictable degradation kinetics, mechanical strength, and biocompatibility have restricted their widespread clinical application.

This study investigates the effects of silicate materials, i.e. native diatomite, acid-treated diatomite, 1250-mesh meta-kaolin, 4000-mesh meta-kaolin and zeolite, on the structure, physico-chemical properties and gas-selective permeabilities of 'blown' starch/ poly (butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT) films.

To address the growing demand for sustainable materials in advanced manufacturing, the objective of this study was to develop and characterize a novel 3D-printable biocomposite using ruminant-digested corn stover (DCS) as a reinforcement for polylactic acid (PLA). The methodology involved systematically optimizing DCS particle size (80-140 mesh) and loading concentration (5-20 wt.%), followed by fabricating composite filaments via melt extrusion and 3D printing test specimens.
