Article Abstract

Objective: To analyze the chemical components of the volatile oil in processed pieces of Fructus Aurantii (PPFA) with JiangXi Zhangband methods by GC-MS.

Methods: The volatile oil was obtained from PPFA by steam distillation. The amount of the components from the volatile oil were determinated by area normalization method. The separated components were identified by GC-MS.

Results: Composed of the total volatile oil over 90% , 70 components were separated and identified. All of the processed Fructus Aurantii produced new chemical composition, in the meantime, the contents were changed in some chemical composition after processed.

Conclusion: The method is reliable, stable and has good repeatability. This method can be applied to the analysis of volatile oil components in PPFA. It will provide the certain scientific methods for further evaluating of PPFA quality.

Purpose: The rapid onset of anxiolytic drugs without cognitive or motor impairments remains an unmet need. This study evaluated the acute anxiolytic effects of Salvia heldreichiana essential oil in rats, measuring anxiety-related behaviors, hippocampal levels of serotonin, noradrenaline, gamma-aminobutyric acid GABA, and serum cortisol.

Method: Forty-eight male Wistar albino rats were divided into two experiments.

Huajiao seeds represent an underutilized high-quality woody oilseed resource rich in unsaturated fatty acids and diverse nutritional factors. This study investigated the quality characteristics and digestive behavior of two Huajiao seed oils (Zanthoxylum bungeanum seed oil (ZBSO) and Zanthoxylum schinifolium seed oil (ZSSO)). The results demonstrated that both oils were rich in unsaturated fatty acids, with ZBSO containing 76.

The retinol isotope dilution (RID) test is the most sensitive method to assess vitamin A status by estimating total liver reserves, considered the reference standard. For gas chromatography-combustion-isotope ratio mass spectrometry detection, C is added to the retinol moiety. The synthetic procedure for C-retinyl acetate begins with the naturally occurring β-ionone.

School of Food and Biological Engineering, Key Laboratory for Agricultural Products Processing of Anhui Province, Engineering Research Centre of Bio-Process of Ministry of Education, Hefei University of Technology, Hefei, 230009 China.

Unlabelled: A complex enzyme mixture of papain, neutral protease, and flavor protease was used to treat sesame meal at 50 °C for 3 h, yielding four peptide fractions (PF) with distinct molecular weight distributions of PF1 (> 10 kDa), PF2 (3-10 kDa), PF3 (1-3 kDa), and PF4 (< 1 kDa). and xylose were added to peptide mixtures heated to 120 °C in an oil bath for 120 min to form Maillard reaction product (MRP). PF4 peptides (< 1 kDa) had a substantial impact on pH, color, and browning intensity, whereas PF3 peptides (1-3 kDa) improved the meat-like flavor, mouth fullness, and umami taste.

Essential oils (EOs) are secondary metabolites of plants, made up of a wide range of aromatic volatile compounds found in different concentrations. These essential oil components (EOCs) are widely recognized for their diverse biological activities, including antibacterial, antifungal, and antioxidant properties, among others. Consequently, EOs have garnered significant interest across various industries, such as pharmaceutical, agri-food, and perfumery.
