The pfam04002 annotation describes RadC as a bacterial DNA repair protein. Although the radC gene is expressed specifically during competence for genetic transformation in Streptococcus pneumoniae, we report that radC mutants exhibit normal uptake and processing of transforming DNA. They also display normal sensitivity to DNA-damaging agents, providing no support for the rad epithet.

Rationale And Objectives: In depth comparison of imaging features and overall survival (OS) between IDH wild-type diffuse lower-grade glioma and glioblastoma (GB), providing precise guidance for early risk stratification and optimized clinical decision-making.
Materials And Methods: Retrospective inclusion of IDH wild-type glioma patients admitted between January 2017 and January 2024. Patients were classified into GB (histological and molecular) and lower-grade glioma not elsewhere classified (LGNEC) based on fifth edition of the Central Nervous System Tumor Classification Standards.

Purpose: The differential diagnosis of primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL) and atypical glioblastoma (aGBM) exhibiting homogeneous enhancement and negligible necrosis poses a significant challenge for conventional MRI. The study aims to investigate diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI), dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) MRI, and contrast agent (CA) preload dynamic susceptibility contrast perfusion-weighted imaging (DSC-PWI) to differentiate aGBM and PCNSL.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective study analyzed 27 patients with aGBM (solid enhancement without visible necrosis) and 105 patients with PCNSL, all undergoing preoperative DWI, DCE-MRI, and CA preload DSC-PWI.

Background: Atypical glioblastoma (GBM) (minimal or no necrosis on MRI) and primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL) are difficult to distinguish on MRI; whether tumor habitat can more accurately distinguish atypical GBM from PCNSL remains uncertain.
Purpose: To evaluate the diagnostic performance with tumor habitats, apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC), and edema index (EI) to distinguish atypical GBM from PCNSL.

Tau positron emission tomography (PET) imaging allows in vivo detection of tau proteinopathy in Alzheimer's disease, which is associated with neurodegeneration and cognitive decline. Understanding how demographic, clinical and genetic factors relate to tau PET positivity will facilitate its use for clinical practice and research. Here we conducted an analysis of 42 cohorts worldwide (N = 12,048), including 7,394 cognitively unimpaired (CU) participants, 2,177 participants with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and 2,477 participants with dementia.
