Single crystals of SmCu4Ga8 have been grown using Ga flux and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. SmCu4Ga8, isostructural to SmZn11, crystallizes in the hexagonal P6/mmm (No. 191) space group, with Z = 3 and lattice parameters a = 8.865(2) A and c = 8.607(2) A. Magnetic susceptibility data show antiferromagnetic ordering at 3.3 K. Metallic behavior is observed in the temperature range 2-300 K. A large positive magnetoresistance (MR % = (rho H - rho 0)/rho 0 x 100) up to 40% is also observed near T N. In this paper, we present the structure and physical properties of SmCu4Ga8.

A series of Cu-based single-atom catalysts (SACs) with asymmetric coordination were designed to accelerate lithium-sulfur (Li-S) chemistry. The electronegativity contrast from the dopant induces a localized electronic asymmetry that amplifies Jahn-Teller distortion at the Cu center. This distortion profoundly modulates the Cu 3d electronic structure and its interaction with Li-S intermediates.

Importance: Cannabis is the most commonly used illicit drug, with 10% to 30% of regular users developing cannabis use disorder (CUD), a condition linked to altered hippocampal integrity. Evidence suggests high-intensity interval training (HIIT) enhances hippocampal structure and function, with this form of physical exercise potentially mitigating CUD-related cognitive and mental health impairments.
Objective: To determine the impact of a 12-week HIIT intervention on hippocampal integrity (ie, structure, connectivity, biochemistry) compared with 12 weeks of strength and resistance (SR) training in CUD.
Background: People with dementia who have a fall can experience both physical and psychological effects, often leading to diminished independence. Falls impose economic costs on the healthcare system. Despite elevated fall risks in dementia populations, evidence supporting effective home-based interventions remains limited.

Sleep is a significant factor influencing both physical and mental health. It supports thinking, emotional regulation, and vitality. However, insomnia is still a common problem, often linked to complex factors like psychological vulnerability and early life experiences.

Isovalent anion substitution has been shown to have a tremendous effect on the transport properties in lithium halide solid ionic conductors. Although sodium-ion solid state batteries based on chloride ionic conductors have recently gathered significant attention, investigations of anion substitution in sodium containing chlorides remain scarce. Here, we investigate the role of Br isoelectronic anion substitution in a perovskite-related compound with nominal composition of NaTaCl.
