Background: Thymol, a bioactive phenolic compound, has proven to possess multiple anti-cancer activities, yet the function and underlying mechanism in colorectal cancer (CRC) remain unclear.
Objectives: To shed light on the possible therapeutic effects of thymol in CRC based on calcium homeostasis regulation, and seek to explore the molecular pathways of calcium overload in the thymol-induced anti-CRC activity.
Methods: The effects of thymol on cell proliferation, viability, apoptosis, anti-inflammatory effects, and calcium overload phenotype were investigated in HCT116 and CT26 cells.
Osthole, a coumarin compound mainly derived from (L.), has attracted much interest from the scientific community owing to its multiple therapeutic properties. However, its pharmacological mechanism, pharmacokinetics, and toxicological effects are far from clear.

Objective: To explore the temperature distribution characteristics of the face, palms, feet and the trunk area of metabolic syndrome (MS) through infrared thermography (IRT) and provide evidence for the application of IRT in the assistant evaluation of MS population.
Methods: We collected thermographs of 184 participants (91 males, 93 females) and further divided participants of each gender into 4 groups according to the number of abnormal metabolic indexes. Mean temperatures of 6 Region of Interests (ROIs) (face, anterior trunk, bilateral palms and dorsum of feet) were calculated.
