Urolithiasis is a common and recurrent condition in the urological spectrum. Despite various proposed mechanisms, the causal relationship between sleep traits and the risk of urolithiasis remains unclear. We used publicly available genome-wide association study (GWAS) summary data from the UK Biobank and FinnGen to perform a two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis and genetic correlation analysis, evaluating the causal relationship and genetic correlation between sleep traits (chronotype, getting up in the morning, sleep duration, nap during the day, and insomnia) and urolithiasis (calculus of the kidney and ureter, and calculus of the lower urinary tract).

A novel, to the best of our knowledge, approach to generate frequency-tunable microwave sources with low-phase-noise based on a Brillouin laser frequency comb is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The Brillouin laser frequency comb is generated by combining stimulated Brillouin scattering, frequency shifting optical injection locking, modulation sideband optical injection locking (MSOIL), and four-wave mixing effects. By beating the generated comb lines, the microwave is generated with an extremely low-level phase noise of -120 dBc/Hz at a 10-kHz offset.

The existing research on the association between apolipoproteins (Apos) and erectile dysfunction (ED) primarily relies on observational studies and does not distinguish between organic and psychogenic causes when diagnosing ED. It is difficult to believe that Apos play a role in psychogenic ED. To address these issues, our study explored the causal relationship between lipoproteins and ED using Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis and differentiate between organic and psychogenic ED through the use of nocturnal penile tumescence and rigidity (NPTR) monitoring.

Purpose: Estrogen receptor (ER) genes play key roles in male and female reproduction. Non-obstructive azoospermia (NOA) and severe secretory oligozoospermia (SOL) are the most severe and complex conditions impacting male fertility. This meta-analysis aimed to study the association between PvuII ( rs2234693, 397T>C ), XbaI ( rs9340799, 351G>A ), AluI (1730G>A, rs4986938), and RsaI (1082G>A, rs1256049) polymorphisms and spermatogenic failure.

The rotation of cells is of significant importance in various applications including bioimaging, biophysical analysis and microsurgery. Current methods usually require complicated fabrication processes. Herein, we proposed an induced charged electroosmosis (ICEO) based on a chip manipulation method for rotating cells.

Bilestones are solid masses found in the gallbladder or biliary tract, which block the normal bile flow and eventually result in severe life-threatening complications. Studies have shown that bilestone formation may be related to bile flow dynamics and the concentration level of bile components. The bile flow dynamics in the biliary tract play a critical role in disclosing the mechanism of bile stasis and transportation.

Sheath-less focusing and sorting of cells or particles is an important preprocessing step in a variety of biochemical applications. Most of the previous sorting methods depend on the use of sheath flows to realize efficient cell focusing. The sheath flow dilutes the sample and requires precise flow control via additional channels.

Three-dimensional rotation of cells is imperative in a variety of applications such as biology, medicine, and chemistry. We report for the first time a versatile approach for executing controllable 3D rotation of cells or particles at a bipolar electrode (BPE) array using a rotating electric field. The versatility of this method is demonstrated by 3D rotating various cells including yeast cells and K562 cells and the cells can be rotated to a desired orientation and immobilized for further operations.

Offensive language detection has received important attention and plays a crucial role in promoting healthy communication on social platforms, as well as promoting the safe deployment of large language models. Training data is the basis for developing detectors; however, the available offense-related dataset in Chinese is severely limited in terms of data scale and coverage when compared to English resources. This significantly affects the accuracy of Chinese offensive language detectors in practical applications, especially when dealing with hard cases or out-of-domain samples.

Background: Prostate cancer (PCa) is the second most common type of cancer and the fifth leading cause of cancer-related death in men. Androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) has become the first-line therapy for inhibiting PCa progression; however, nearly all patients receiving ADT eventually progress to castrate-resistant prostate cancer. Therefore, this study aimed to identify hub genes related to bicalutamide resistance in PCa and provide new insights into endocrine therapy resistance.

The present study aimed to assess the value of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (hUC-MSCs) for the treatment of diabetes-induced erectile dysfunction (DMED). We established a type 1 diabetes model through intra-abdominal streptozotocin injection. After 10 weeks, an apomorphine test was performed to screen the rats for erectile dysfunction (ED).

Objectives: To evaluate the expression, potential functions and mechanisms of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) in the pathogenesis of varicocele (VC)-induced spermatogenic dysfunction.

Materials And Methods: We established a rat model with left experimental VC and divided rats into the sham group, the VC group, and the surgical treatment group (each group, n = 10). Haematoxylin and eosin (HE) staining and sperm quality were analysed to evaluate spermatogenesis function.

Purpose: Diabetes mellitus erectile dysfunction (DMED) is a common resulting complication of diabetes. Studies have shown mesenchymal stem cell (MSC)-based therapy was beneficial in alleviating erectile function of DMED rats. While the pathogenesis of DMED and the mechanism MSCs actions are unclear.
