Background: The treatment and prognosis of cardiac amyloidosis (CA) depend heavily on the accurate identification of amyloid protein types. Histopathological methods are the most commonly used approach, but often produce inconclusive results. The application of mass spectrometry with laser microdissection mass spectrometry based on non-targeted proteomics in CA diagnosis is gradually being recognized, but it is expensive, time-consuming, and still in the early stages of scientific research applications.

Objectives: Accurate quantification of aldosterone is critical for screening and diagnosing primary aldosteronism (PA). Current competitive chemiluminescence immunoassays (cCLIA) overestimate plasma aldosterone concentration (PAC) compared to liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). However, LC-MS/MS is technically demanding and time-consuming, limiting its widespread clinical utility.

Background: The balance between thrombosis and hemostasis is a difficult issue during extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) support. The pathogenesis leading to thrombotic complications during ECMO support is not well understood. Neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) were reported to participate in thrombosis and have a key role in inflammation.

Objective: To investigate the prevalence of primary aldosteronism (PA) among participants with hypertension, evaluate the concordance of PA classification between adrenal computed tomography and adrenal venous sampling, and compare the outcomes of surgery and medication for unilateral PA.

Methods: A prospective study was conducted among all inpatients with hypertension (n = 7594) at the National Center for Cardiovascular Diseases, China, from May 2016 to April 2018.

Results: Of the 7594 participants, 8.
