Liquid is the most flexible state of condensed matter and shows promise as a functional soft material. However, these same characteristics make it challenging to achieve efficient room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP) from metal-free organic molecular liquids. Herein, we report efficient RTP from liquefied thienyl diketones bearing one or two dimethyloctylsilyl (DMOS) substituents.

Objective: The jawbone contains a large number of unnamed epithelial rests that are remnants of the tooth-forming process. One of these uniquely extends naturally along neurovascular bundles, and was originally described at least 100 years ago as "epithelial nests in the bone nerve canal." As this concept has been forgotten in the years since then, any association of epithelial rests with the nerve has remained diagnostically enigmatic.

Oncocytic sinonasal papilloma in the nasal and paranasal sinuses: a case report and review of the literature.

Oncocytic sinonasal papilloma (OSP) is an uncommon, benign neoplasm characterized by papillary growths arising from the Schneiderian mucosa of the nasal and paranasal sinuses. OSP accounts for about 3-6% of all sinonasal papillomas (SPs), and clinically is often confused with inverted sinonasal papilloma (incidence 73%). Although SP shares some of the clinical characteristics of OSP, the pathogenesis differs and it is very important to distinguish between them.

Schizophyllan, a triple helical polysaccharide, exhibits cooperative order-disorder transition (CODT) in aqueous solutions. The transition transforms the ordered structure (triple helix I) formed between the branched side chains and solvent molecules into the disordered structure (triple helix II) without dissociation of the triple helix. The CODT behaviors in HO-imidazole mixtures containing HCl with different molar ratios of imidazole/HCl were investigated by adiabatic calorimetry and differential scanning calorimetry on two schizophyllan solutions with different molar masses.
