Although the allele and haplotype frequencies of 11 HLA loci (HLA-A, B, C, DRB1, DRB3/4/5, DQA1, DQB1, DPA1 and DPB1) have been reported in different populations, rare studies have simultaneously assessed the allele distributions of non-classical HLA class I genes (HLA-E/F/G/H) and MICA/MICB together with the 11 classical HLA loci, or further analysed the haplotype frequencies covering the 17 loci. The present study aims to investigate the allele diversity and haplotype frequencies of 17 HLA-related loci including HLA genes and MICA/MICB simultaneously using a hybrid capture (HC)-based NGS method. A total of 358 HLA alleles including 177 class I and 137 class II alleles, as well as 29 MICA and 15 MICB alleles were identified in this project.

Hyperspectral photothermal mid-infrared spectroscopic imaging (HP-MIRSI) is an emerging technology with promising applications in cervical cancer diagnosis and quantitative, label-free histopathology. The recovery and upcycling of metals from electronic waste into functional materials for wastewater treatment is a win-win strategy for simultaneously realizing electronic waste recycling and wastewater purification. This study focused on converting Cu from waste printed boards (PCBs), a common Cu-rich electronic waste, into CuFeO supported on a mesoporous carbon framework (PCFT) with the assistance of Fe and tannic acid (TA). Compared to the PCF prepared without TA, the resulting PCFT exhibited excellent magnetic properties, high crystallinity, lower interfacial transfer resistance, more abundant oxygen vacancies (O), and lower metal leaching.

To understand how malignant tumors develop, we tracked cell membrane, nuclear membrane, spindle, and cell cycle dynamics in polyploid giant cancer cells (PGCCs) during the formation of high-grade serous carcinoma organoids using long-term time-lapse imaging. Single cells underwent traditional mitosis to generate tissue with uniform nuclear size, while others formed PGCCs via asymmetric mitosis, endoreplication, multipolar endomitosis, nuclear fusion, and karyokinesis without cytokinesis. PGCCs underwent restitution multipolar endomitosis, nuclear fragmentation, and micronuclei formation to increase nuclear contents and heterogeneity.
