Paroxetine (PRX) exhibits significant toxic effects on the male reproductive system. Previous animal studies have demonstrated that Pfaffia glomerata extract can ameliorate PRX-induced sexual dysfunction in male mice, but its active components and underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Chikusetsusaponin IVa (CHS-IVa), a major saponin component of Pfaffia glomerata with well-documented antioxidant and anti-apoptotic activities, has become a research focus.

The purpose of the present work was to establish the transportation conditions for keeping alive by means of corona-induced dormancy in combination with taurine. It also investigated the synergistic regulatory effects on oxidative stress mitigation and immune function during low-temperature conditions and clarified the underlying mechanism. The dormancy pretreatment induced by pulsed direct current could reduce the accumulation of reactive oxygen species in fish under hypothermal and water-restricted conditions and significantly enhance the environmental adaptability of .

In this paper, the quality change of Yesso scallop () in the process of anhydrous storage and transportation after cold acclimation and induced dormancy was studied, and the regulation mechanism of quality degradation during storage and transportation in the process of gradient chilling stress and drying exposure was further explored. The results show that, when transferred from hydrous to anhydrous states, the breathing pattern of the scallops changed from aerobic to anaerobic. Their gill filaments were altered and their apparent vitality constantly declined, which was reflected by the edge shrinkage of the pallium and the direct proportions of the edge reduction rate and the stimulus response period.

Unfavorable conditions severely affect the survival quality of Litopenaeus vannamei (L. vannamei) during live transport and the molecular response mechanism needs to be clarified. In this study, metabolomics combined with conventional assay on physiological and histopathological responses were applied to deepen the understanding of L.

Maintaining the homeostasis of energy metabolism is crucial for organism's stress tolerance and survival. Acute cold exposure (AC) and waterless duration (WD) represent the two predominate abiotic stressors during waterless live transport of Litopenaeus vannamei. Although previous reports have explored the physiological response of L.

High mortality is a frequent occurrence during live transport of shrimp species and the biochemical mechanism remains unknown. This study aimed to explore the influence of combined stress of acute cold exposure (AC) and waterless duration (WD) on survivability and biochemical response of shrimp L. vannamei during live transport.

♀Epinephelus fuscoguttatus × ♂Epinephelus lanceolatus, a hybrid grouper created from artificial breeding, has been widely developed over the past decades. However, the study focusing on lukewarm high-protein-content fish species using advanced techniques has rarely been reported. In this work, the TMT (tandem mass tag)-assisted technique was employed to explore its differentially expressed proteins and response mechanisms under low-temperature dormant and waterless stresses.

In forensics, ancestry inference can provide leads for criminal investigation. Therefore, the time needed to generate results is the first priority. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) are widely used genetic markers for ancestry inference.

Crude polysaccharide was prepared from by 30% (w/v) potassium hydroxide solution at 90°C for 120 min. Three fractions (OG1, OG2, and OG3) were purified by DEAE-52 cellulose and Sepharose 2B gel column chromatography. The chemical structures were determined using gas chromatography (GC), high-performance gel permeation chromatography (HPGPC), Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, and H and C nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy.

The objective of the study was to compare the efficacy of three bowel preparation regimens for transabdominal colon ultrasonography. A total of 192 consecutive patients were given one of three regimens (senna, magnesium sulfate or polyethylene glycol electrolyte powder) before ultrasonographic examinations. The cleaning grade (I = emptying; II = filled or filled + empty; III = I or II with some retention; and IV = retention [grades I and II were termed "qualified"]) and cleaning range (A = all seven colon sections were qualified; B = four to six sections were qualified; C = three or less sections were qualified) were evaluated retrospectively.

Aim: To assess the value of ultrasonography (US) in evaluation of proximal gastric accommodation disorder in patients with functional dyspepsia (FD).

Methods: Between April 2011 and March 2012, 45 patients with FD and 27 healthy volunteers were enrolled in this study. Two-dimensional ultrasound (2DUS) and 3-dimensional ultrasound (3DUS) were performed sequentially to measure proximal gastric area (PGA), maximal proximal gastric diameter (MPGD), and proximal gastric volume (PGV).

Objective: To elucidate the co-localization characteristic between porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) N protein and B23.1 phosphoprotein.

Methods: Two pairs of primers used to amplify N gene and B23.

Objective: To study the immunoloregulation effect of three polysaccharides OGI, OG2and OG3 extracted from Octopus dollfusi muscle, gonad, digestive gland, respectively.

Methods: Spleen cell proliferation was measured by MTT assay and index of immune organs were weighed and calculated.

Results: OGI and OG2 could increase the proliferation of mouse spleen cell of normal mice, and significantly increased the proliferation of the spleen of immunosuppression mice caused by sccyclophosphamide, while showed no cooperation with ConA; OG3 appeared suppression for the two spleens.

Objective: To investigate the influence of insulin resistance and pancreatic beta-cell function on plasma glucose level in type 2 diabetes so as to provide theoretical basis for reasonable selection of hypoglycemic agents.

Methods: The plasma non-specific insulin (NSINS), true insulin (TI) and glucose in eight-one type 2 diabetics, 38 males and 43 females, with a mean age of 53 years, were examined 0, 30, 60 and 120 minutes after they had 75 grams of instant noodles. The patients were divided into two groups according to their fasting plasma glucose (FPG): group A (FPG < 8.
