Background: Schizophrenia is a complex chronic mental disorder that severely impairs patients' social functioning and quality of life, while imposing substantial burdens on families and society. Long-acting injectable antipsychotics (LAIs) have demonstrated potential advantages in improving both symptoms and social functioning. This study investigated the effects of transitioning from oral antipsychotics (OAPS) to Paliperidone Palmitate Once-Monthly (PP1M) on symptom control, social functioning, and caregiver burden in schizophrenia patients.

Psychometric properties of the Chinese version of the aging transformation scale for older adults with dementia.

Background: The key part of home care services is the assessment of the needs of the home environment for older adults with dementia. The present study was conducted to evaluate the psychometric properties of a newly adapted Chinese version of an instrument designed to measure aging transformation needs among older adults with dementia.

Methods: A sample of 175 older adults with dementia was selected from ten communities in China.

Background: Whether depression causes increased risk of the development of breast cancer has long been debated. We conducted an updated meta-analysis of cohort studies to assess the association between depression and risk of breast cancer.

Materials And Methods: Relevant literature was searched from Medline, Embase, Web of Science (up to April 2014) as well as manual searches of reference lists of selected publications.
