Objective: To develop a machine learning method for the automatic recognition of endometriosis lesions during laparoscopic surgery and evaluate its feasibility and performance.

Design: Collecting and annotating surgical videos and training, validating, and testing a deep neural network.

Setting: Multicenter proof-of-concept study using surgical videos from expert centers in France, Hungary, Brazil, and Denmark.

Patient safety measures for virtual consultations in primary care: a systematic review.

Objectives: With the growing adoption of virtual consultations in primary care, the need for tailored metrics to evaluate their safety became increasingly urgent. This systematic review seeks to identify and review existing safety measures that could be used for safety evaluation of virtual consultations in primary care.

Methods: This has been conducted in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines and followed a published protocol.

Trends in the use of video consultation in general practice during COVID-19: impact of practice and country characteristics based on the international, cross-sectional PRICOV-19 study.

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the use of telemedicine, specifically video consultations as they provide healthcare access in challenging situations where face-to-face encounters are not possible. Nevertheless, it remains largely unknown to what extent the organisation of general practice and national digital infrastructures have impacted the uptake and use of video consultations.

Objective: This study examined the variation in use of video consultations in general practice across Europe during the COVID-19 pandemic and explored associations with practice- and country-level characteristics.

Object Detection in Laparoscopic Surgery: A Comparative Study of Deep Learning Models on a Custom Endometriosis Dataset.

Laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis presents unique challenges due to the complexity of and variability in lesion appearances within the abdominal cavity. This study investigates the application of deep learning models for object detection in laparoscopic videos, aiming to assist surgeons in accurately identifying and localizing endometriosis lesions and related anatomical structures. A custom dataset was curated, comprising of 199 video sequences and 205,725 frames.

Electronic Personal Health Records for Mobile Populations: A Rapid Systematic Literature Review.

Mobile populations, including refugees, asylum seekers, and undocumented migrants, face challenges related to access, continuity, and quality of healthcare, among others, due to the lack of available health records. This study aimed to examine the current landscape of Electronic Personal Health Records (EPHRs) developed for and used by mobile populations. A rapid systematic review was conducted between September 2024 and January 2025, identifying relevant publications through searches in Embase, PubMed, Scopus, and grey literature.

Co-developing a digital mindfulness- and acceptance-based intervention for endometriosis management and care: a qualitative feasibility study.

Background: MY-ENDO (Mind Your ENDOmetriosis) is a mindfulness- and acceptance-based endometriosis self-management intervention aimed at teaching women with symptomatic endometriosis how to manage and reduce negative physical, psychological, and social consequences of endometriosis. This study aimed at involving women with endometriosis in the co-development process of a digital version of MY-ENDO to investigate their experiences with and attitudes toward the intervention.

Methods: The study was designed as a qualitative feasibility study.

Background: The implementation of decentralized clinical trials (DCTs) has received strong political interest in Denmark. Many policy stakeholders may directly or indirectly influence the implementation at a national strategic level. Diverging interests may drive the implementation process in different directions, which may result in an inefficient and unsustainable process.

Background: Virtual consultations are being increasingly incorporated into routine primary care, as they offer better time and geographical flexibility for patients while also being cost-effective for both patients and service providers. At the same time, concerns have been raised about the extent to which virtual care is safe for patients. As of now, there is no validated methodology for evaluating the safety nuances and implications of virtual care.

Use of quality circles for primary care providers in 24 European countries: an online survey of European Society for Quality and Safety in family practice delegates.

To identify and describe the core characteristics and the spread of quality circles in primary healthcare in European countries. An online survey was conducted among European Society for Quality and Safety in Family Practice (EQuiP) delegates. To allow comparison with earlier results, a similar survey as in a study from 2000 was used.

Applicability of Motivational Interviewing for Chronic Disease Management in Primary Care Following a Web-Based E-Learning Course: Cross-Sectional Study.

Background: Motivational interviewing (MI) is an established communication method for enhancing intrinsic motivation for changing health behavior. E-learning can reduce the cost and time involved in providing continuing education and can be easily integrated into individual working arrangements and the daily routines of medical professionals. Thus, a Web-based course was devised to familiarize health professionals with different levels of education and expertise with MI techniques for patients with chronic conditions.
