This case report describes the successful management of refractory ITP using stem cell therapy in a dog that experienced severe side effects from immunosuppressive treatment. The patient experienced recurrent relapses when prednisolone (PDS) tapering was attempted during conventional immunosuppressive therapy, necessitating prolonged use of PDS; this led to complications, such as diabetic ketoacidosis and chronic gastrointestinal bleeding.

This review explores the dual role of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and free radicals in the pathogenesis of endometriosis, aiming to deepen our understanding of these processes through a systematic literature review. To assess the induction and involvement of ROS in endometriosis, we conducted a comprehensive literature review using Cochrane Libraries, EMBASE, Google Scholar, PubMed, and SCOPUS databases. Of 30 qualifying papers ultimately reviewed, 28 reported a significant contribution of ROS to the pathogenesis of endometriosis, while two found no association.

Design: A nationwide, population-based cohort study using data from the Korean National Health Insurance Sharing Service (NHISS) database.
Participants: Individuals who underwent cataract surgery and received the same type of IOL (BLF or clear) in both eyes within one year between January 2012 and December 2018.

The phylogenetic relationships within Limacodidae remain unresolved, highlighting the need for expanded genomic resources. This study presents the first complete mitochondrial genome of , 15,354 bp in length and comprising 13 protein-coding genes, 22 tRNAs, two rRNAs, and an A+T rich region. The gene arrangement follows the typical Lepidopteran pattern.

Methods: This multicenter, open-label, clinical trial enrolled patients >19 years of age with RA and or hand/knee OA who met the prescribing indications for rosuvastatin/ezetimibe in primary hypercholesterolemia or mixed dyslipidemia, and the Korean insurance criteria.
Background/aims: Circumscribed choroidal haemangioma (CCH) can cause visual impairment, primarily managed with photodynamic therapy (PDT). This study aimed to identify predictive factors of therapeutic response in patients with CCH treated with PDT and to analyse serial anatomical outcomes, focusing on visual acuity, tumour characteristics, and inner retinal microstructures.
Methods: This retrospective study included patients diagnosed with CCH at Severance Eye Hospital, Yonsei University, from January 2005 to December 2022.
Purpose: This study aimed to describe the structural and clinical characteristics of optic disc pit maculopathy-like retinoschisis without a clinically visible optic disc pit and discuss possible pathogenesis and treatment.
Methods: This retrospective observational case series reviewed 20 eyes in 19 patients diagnosed with peripapillary retinoschisis (PPRS) without a visible optic disc pit. Patients were divided into three groups according to management method: observation, intraocular pressure (IOP) control, and vitrectomy.
Numerous studies have been conducted into the reuse of such waste fabric; however, diversity in fiber type and the dyes used limits their potential applications. Therefore, innovative methods for recycling waste fiber need to be developed. This study explores the use of waste fabric as the primary raw material for the development of solar steam generators (SSGs) by harnessing abundant and affordable artificial 3D structures to deliver an efficient and cost-effective steam-generation solution.

This study aimed to assess the short-term effects of perioperative administration of a single-dose PCSK9 inhibitor in patients with ACS.
Methods: This study included 789 consecutive patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for ACS.
Background: The paper provides the updated checklist of the genus Schrank from Korea. This genus is one of the largest genera within the Noctuoidea comprising more than 680 species worldwide and the genus is the monophyletic group based on the morphological characters. The external examination along with the genitalia examination and DNA barcoding could reveal the diversity of the genus in Korea.

Facial nerve injury (FNI) induces complex molecular and cellular responses, with reactive oxygen species (ROS) and free radicals (FRs) playing pivotal roles in nerve degeneration and regeneration. However, to date, no systematic review has specifically investigated the involvement of ROS and FRs in FNI. To address this unmet need, we reviewed the literature on the subject, comprehensively searching SCOPUS, PubMed, Cochrane Library, EMBASE, and Google Scholar to identify studies that assessed the roles of FRs and ROS in FNI and summarize their findings.

Influenza A hemagglutinin (HA), neuraminidase, and/or M2e-containing virus-like particles (VLPs) induce immune responses that contribute to protection against multiple influenza A virus subtypes. In this study, we investigated the protective efficacy of influenza A/H1H3 VLPs against influenza B virus infections (B/Colorado/06/2017 and B/Malaysia/2506/2004, Victoria lineage) in mice. A/H1H3 VLP immunization elicited protection against lethal challenge infections with both B/Colorado and B/Malaysia, significantly reducing lung viral loads and ensuring 100% survival of immunized mice.

While early-stage treatment is generally effective with a cure rate of approximately 90%, the five-year survival rate dramatically decreases to 10-15% for advanced-stage diagnoses. Consequently, ongoing research seeks to improve treatment outcomes for endometrial cancer.
