Objective: To systematically analyze the patterns, risk factors, and clinical management strategies of adverse drug reactions (ADRs) associated with methylprednisolone sodium succinate in the treatment of idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss (ISSNHL).
Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on 1026 ISSNHL patients treated with methylprednisolone sodium succinate at Nanjing Tongren Hospital from January 2020 to December 2024. The incidence, types, severity, and outcomes of ADRs were recorded.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the fluctuations in the prevalence of individuals diagnosed with otitis media with effusion (OME) during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, while also evaluating the persistence of SARS-CoV-2 in middle ear effusion (MEE) and assessing the effectiveness of tympanocentesis as a treatment modality for OME in this specific period.
Methods: The total number of outpatients and patients diagnosed with OME in our department was recorded for January 2022 and January 2023. Thirty patients (aged 15-86 years) were categorized into two groups: group A (n = 12), who developed OME during their SARS-CoV-2 infection and group B (n = 18), who experienced OME after the resolution of SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Objectives: Increased numbers of patients with secretory otitis media appeared in outpatient clinics after the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) Omicron pandemic; however, the relationship between SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant infection and secretory otitis media is uncertain.
Methods: We performed tympanocentesis and used reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) testing to examine middle ear effusion (MEE) and nasopharyngeal secretions from 30 patients with secretory otitis media associated with SARS-CoV-2 infection. RT-PCR was performed using the open reading frame 1ab and nucleocapsid protein gene kit from Shanghai Berger Medical Technology Co.
Cancer stem cells (CSCs) are involved in cancer recurrence and metastasis owing to their self-renewal properties and drug-resistance capacity. Lipocalin-2 (Lcn2) of the lipocalin superfamily is highly expressed in pancreatic cancer. Nevertheless, reports on the involvement of Lcn2 in the regulation of pancreatic CSC properties are scant.
