This study is the first to investigate the anti-aging effects of the newly synthesized compound, 3,4,5-tri-feruloylquinic acid (TFQA), in vivo using the senescence-accelerated mouse prone 8 (SAMP8) model, through integrated whole-transcriptomic and biochemical analyses. Oral administration of TFQA (1 mg/kg body weight) for 37 days led to significant cognitive improvements, as demonstrated by enhanced performance in the Morris water maze (MWM) test, including reduced escape latency and increased time spent in the target zone, target crossings, distance traveled, and swimming speed. Gene Ontology (GO) analysis of hippocampal microarray data revealed that TFQA upregulated genes associated with neurotransmitter and synaptic functions, while downregulating inflammatory pathways.

Solitary fibrous tumor/hemangiopericytoma is a mesenchymal tumor that originates from a common NAB2-STAT6 fusion gene and is known to very rarely demonstrate dedifferentiation in the pattern of local recurrence or distant metastasis. Here we describe for the first time a rare case of intracranial dedifferentiated solitary fibrous tumor/hemangiopericytoma with osteosarcoma components that developed in an 84-year-old man after frequent gamma knife radiosurgery over a 14-year period. Paired-end RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) is usually applied to the quantification of long transcripts such as messenger or long non-coding RNAs, in which case overlapping pairs are discarded. In contrast, RNA-seq on short RNAs (≤ 200 nt) is typically carried out in single-end mode, as the additional cost associated with paired-end would only translate into redundant sequence information.
