Case: We present a case of an elderly female patient with a chronic lower leg wound involving bone exposure in the tibia. Despite the absence of overt infection, low-grade osteomyelitis was suspected. Given the patient's age and overall fitness, we opted for a staged reconstructive approach using negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT), followed by sequential pedicled muscle flaps and skin grafting.

Lipoma arborescens (LA) is a rare, non-neoplastic, intra-articular, mass-like lesion with villous lipomatous proliferation that replaces and distends the synovium, particularly in the knee joint. A few cases have been sporadically reported to affect the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, and ankle. The authors would like to present a rare and unique case of LA in the elbow joint with significant osteoarthritis in a 24-year-old young man, which suggests that a longstanding pre-existing LA can give rise to severe degenerative arthritis even in young patients unless diagnosed early and adequately treated.

The superficial peroneal nerve (SPN) is frequently at risk of iatrogenic injury during the open reduction and internal fixation of the distal fibula. The risk of nerve injury is increased for the Blair and Botte type B pattern of SPN, crossing the distal fibula from posterior to anterior (at 5 to 7 cm) from the lateral malleolar tip. Recently, two cases of Blair and Botte type B pattern were observed during the open reduction and internal fixation of the distal fibula at our hospital.

Study Design: A prospective case control study.

Objectives: To investigate the risk of a fall by using functional mobility tests in patients with lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS) via a comparison with patients with knee osteoarthritis (KOA).

Summary Of Background Data: LSS is a degenerative arthritic disease in the spine that results in decreasing function, impaired balance, and gait deficit, with increased levels of leg and back pain.
