Stacking desirable haplotypes across the genome to develop superior genotypes has been implemented in several crop species. A major challenge in Optimal Haplotype Selection is identifying a set of parents that collectively contain all desirable haplotypes, a complex combinatorial problem with countless possibilities. In this study, we evaluated the performance of metaheuristic search algorithms (MSAs)-genetic algorithm (GA), differential evolution (DE), particle swarm optimisation (PSO), and simulated annealing (SA) for optimising parent selection under two genotype building (GB) objectives: Optimal Haplotype Selection (OHS) and Optimal Population Value (OPV).

Vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) has gained significant attention as a therapy for various medical conditions due to its ability to modulate chronic diseases, pain, and inflammation. VNS delivered by an implanted device is FDA approved for severe epilepsy and refractory depression. VNS delivered with implantable devices or transcutaneous methods are now being studied in several musculoskeletal diseases including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and fibromyalgia.

Background: The earthworm fauna of India remains inadequately documented, despite its pivotal ecological importance, and there is a pressing need to address this gap. Recognizing this lack of comprehensive documentation, the present study was undertaken to explore and characterize the diversity in previously under-surveyed regions. During systematic surveys in Madhya Pradesh (Central India) and Manipur (North-Eastern India), four novel species of the genus Drawida Michaelsen, 1900 were discovered: D.

Background: Modern lifestyle trends, characterized by sedentary behaviours and poor dietary choices, have a negative impact on the physical and mental health of university students at graduation and post-graduation levels. This study aims to investigate the influence of outdoor activities, dietary habits, psychological wellbeing, physical activities, sleep patterns, and bad habits on the lifestyle of university students in India, with a focus on identifying significant differences in these habits among students and exploring the potential benefits of yoga and naturopathy in improving their overall health.

Methods: An online, survey study was conducted among 710 university students using a self-administered Google Form questionnaire.
