Due to its sizable direct bandgap and strong light-matter interactions, the preparation of monolayer MoS has attracted significant attention and intensive research efforts. However, multilayer MoS is largely overlooked because of its optically inactive indirect bandgap caused by interlayer coupling. It is highly desirable to modulate and decrease the interlayer coupling so that each layer in multilayer MoS can exhibit a monolayer-like direct-gap behavior.

Molecular characteristics of halogenated disinfection byproducts elucidated by Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry.

Dissolved organic matter is the main precursor for the formation of halogenated disinfection by-products (X-DBPs) during the disinfection of drinking water. However, the majority of the X-DBPs identified based on the artificially prepared water using the Suwannee River Natural Organic Matter (SRNOM) will bias the assessment of X-DBP formation potential in actual natural water. Herein, the non-targeted analysis based on ultrahigh-resolution mass spectrometry was employed to reveal the discrepancy in the molecular composition of X-DBPs and their precursors in SRNOM solution and actual authentic samples during disinfection.

Significant enhancement of photoproduced reactive intermediates in liquid-like region in frozen surface water for micropollutant degradation.

Freezing enhancing the photochemistry of dissolved organic matter (DOM), yet the mechanism of reactive intermediate (RIs) generation influenced by DOM property and structure remain elusive. Here, we demonstrate that freezing induces exceptional amplification of RIs, with steady-state concentrations in ice (-10 °C) surpassing aqueous solutions by 5-41 times. Laser scanning confocal microscopy first visualized cryo-concentration of DOM and RIs in liquid-like regions (LLR).

Assessment of clinical efficacy and safety of sublingual immunotherapy for house dust mite-induced allergic pharyngitis with rhinitis.

Background: Sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) has been widely established as a disease-modifying treatment for allergic airway diseases. However, its efficacy and safety in allergic pharyngitis (AP) remain insufficiently investigated and require further clinical validation.

Methods: In this retrospective study, 100 patients diagnosed with house dust mite (HDM)-induced AP concomitant with allergic rhinitis (AR) were enrolled.

Objective: To explore the role of prostate health index (PHI) and its derivatives for early screening in patients with PI-RADS score 3 and prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels of 4－20 μg/L.

Methods: Clinical data of 203 patients with a score of 3 on the PI-RADS v2.1 scoring system who underwent ultrasound-guided transperineal prostate aspiration biopsy from April 2021 to April 2024 from Provincial Hospital of Shandong First Medical University, Qilu Hospital of Shandong University and Weifang People's Hospital were collected.
