Background And Aims: The optimal stenting strategy for malignant hilar biliary obstruction (MHBO) remains controversial, with debate about the choice between unilateral (UL) and bilateral (BL) stenting. This meta-analysis compares the safety and efficacy of UL and BL stenting in treating MHBO.

Methods: We searched PubMed, Embase, Scopus, and others until February 2024 for studies comparing UL and BL stenting for MHBO.

Background & Aims: Nonvariceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding (NVUGIB) is a common and potentially life-threatening condition. Over-the-scope clips (OTSCs) have emerged as a promising endoscopic treatment option for NVUGIB. We aimed to analyze the efficacy and safety of OTSCs compared to standard endoscopic treatments (ST) in patients with NVUGIB.

Micro-light-emitting diodes (μLEDs), with their advantages of high response speed, long lifespan, high brightness, and reliability, are widely regarded as the core of next-generation display technology. However, due to issues such as high manufacturing costs and low external quantum efficiency (EQE), μLEDs have not yet been truly commercialized. Additionally, the color conversion efficiency (CCE) of quantum dot (QD)-μLEDs is also a major obstacle to its practical application in the display industry.

Article Synopsis
  • - Acute pancreatitis can lead to severe complications, with 10-20% of patients experiencing necrosis; 30% of these cases progress to infectious necrotizing pancreatitis (INP), which requires a careful treatment approach using minimally invasive surgery (MIS) or endoscopy.
  • - A meta-analysis of five randomized controlled trials involving 284 patients showed that endoscopic treatment resulted in significantly lower rates of major complications and shorter hospital stays compared to MIS.
  • - The results indicate that endoscopic management is more effective for INP, offering better outcomes in terms of reduced complications and improved quality of life for patients.

NH-LED, namely a micro light-emitting diode structure with nano-holes dug all the way through the active region, is designed to make silver nanoparticles in extremely close contact with the quantum wells for improving the coupling between the localized surface plasmon and the quantum wells (LSP-QWs coupling) and thus enhancing the optical properties of theLED. The experimental results show that, thanks to this deep nanohole structure, the LSP-QWs coupling can be realized effectively, which ultimately increases the optical performance of theLED. The internal quantum efficiency of the NH-LED filled with silver nanoparticles is increased by 12%, and the final optical output power is also enhanced.

Vertically oriented graphene (VG) has attracted attention for years, but the growth mechanism is still not fully revealed. The electric field may play a role, but the direct evidence and exactly what role it plays remains unclear. Here, we conduct a systematic study and find that in plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition, the VG growth preferably occurs at spots where the local field is stronger, for example, at GaN nanowire tips.

In the present study, the ZnO-porous carbon (ZnO-C) composites were prepared by pyrolyzing MOF-74 (Zn) precursor at different pyrolysis temperatures. The ZnO-C composites were endowed with ultrafast organic dye adsorption capability and promising supercapacitance properties due to the existence of abundant pores within the composite structures. Having a surface area of 782.
