China exhibits remarkable diversity of the spider genus Thorell, 1898, while Sichuan Province has recorded only one species, Yao & Li, 2020. In this study, four species were collected in eastern Sichuan by canopy fogging. These comprise two new species, Wang, Li & Yao, and Wang, Li & Yao, , as well as two known species, Zhang, Li & Yao, 2024 and Chen, Zhang & Zhu, 2009, which are reported from Sichuan for the first time.

Female have a lower anti-freeze compound level and weaker resistance to cold temperatures than the males in winter, which implies that their intestinal bacteria may be different during overwintering. This study primarily compared the intestinal bacterial communities between the two sexes of .

Mountains provide ideal conditions for studying the variation in community structure with elevations. Spiders are one of the most abundant predators of arthropods in terrestrial ecosystems and can have extremely important collective effects on forest ecosystems.

Sex is one of the important factors affecting gut microbiota. As key predators in agroforestry ecosystem, many spider species show dramatically different activity habits and nutritional requirements between females and males. However, how sex affects gut microbiota of spiders remains unclear.

In addition, nitrogen (N) deposition occurs simultaneously in the same regions. Nematodes are the dominant soil biota in terrestrial ecosystems and are involved in various underground processes.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFollicular development plays a key role in poultry reproduction, affecting clutch traits and thus egg production. Follicular growth is determined by granulosa cells (GCs), theca cells (TCs), and oocyte at the transcription, translation, and secretion levels. With the development of bioinformatic and experimental techniques, non-coding RNAs have been shown to participate in many life events.

We used camera traps to assess wildlife habitat use in Guanyinshan Nature Reserve from 2009 to 2012. We focused on four types of habitat including open areas with gentle slope (<15°) (Type1), low elevation areas (about 1500-1700 m) with high bamboo coverage (Type2), high elevation areas (about 2100-2300 m) with high canopy coverage (Type3), and wildlife migration passages (Type4).
