In recent studies, public health has been considered a key stakeholder in climate mitigation and adaptation in cities since they are more exposed to the impact of climate change. Nurses represent a vast majority of public health professionals, playing a key role in health promotion that allows them to influence individuals, families, and communities in adopting healthier behaviours and decarbonized lifestyles. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to map the existing evidence on nursing interventions, which are being led or implemented to reduce the health risks related to climate change in urban areas.

Introduction: The contribution of respiratory models to understanding and predicting functional capacity abnormalities in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) has not yet been investigated.
Purpose: The aims of this study were: (1) To investigate the associations between the extended Resistance-Inertance-Compliance (eRIC) and the fractional-order (FrOr) models with changes in Glittre-ADL and handgrip tests and; (2) To evaluate the accuracy of these models in predicting abnormal functional capacity in COPD.
Patients And Methods: The study was carried out in a group of 40 adults with COPD and a control group of 40 healthy individuals, both evaluated by respiratory oscillometry, spirometry, Glittre-ADL test and handgrip test.
The Fisher information (FI) metric is a Riemannian metric that allows a geometric treatment of stochastic thermodynamics, introducing the possibility of computing thermodynamic lengths and deviations from equilibrium. At the trajectory level, a related quantity can be introduced, the stochastic Fisher information (SFI), which, on average, is equivalent to the FI. In this work, we discuss two fundamental questions regarding the SFI; namely, (i) what is the thermodynamic interpretation of the SFI, and (ii) are there any trajectory-level thermodynamic bounds.

Coronary microvascular obstruction and dysfunction (CMVO) frequently arise following primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), particularly in individuals with myocardial infarction. Despite the restoration of epicardial blood flow, microvascular perfusion might still be compromised, resulting in negative clinical outcomes. CMVO is a complex condition resulting from a combination of ischemia, distal thrombotic embolization, reperfusion injury, and individual susceptibilities such as inflammation and endothelial dysfunction.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: Early reperfusion after ST-segment-elevation myocardial infarction is essential for limiting infarct size. However, reperfusion injury can lead to progressive microvascular obstruction (MVO), reducing myocardial blood flow (MBF), aggravating ischemia and myocardial necrosis. We hypothesized that SuperSaturated Oxygen (SSO) Therapy may reduce infarct size by alleviating MVO, so we evaluated the effects of SSO on the time course of MBF and MVO in a preclinical ischemia/reperfusion model.

However, there are no formal recommendations regarding the diagnosis of RPOC. This systematic review aimed to synthesise and critically appraise the existing evidence on the definition and diagnostic criteria for RPOC.

Background: Controlled ovarian stimulation (COS) is an essential step in most assisted conception cycles. Different treatment combinations (termed protocols) exist in COS, yet there is no consensus on their relative effectiveness and safety.
Objectives: We aimed to assess the relative effectiveness and safety of COS protocols in clinical practice.
The present study aimed to analyze changes in symptom intensity during the recovery period of COVID-19 survivors and patients with post-COVID syndrome. Initially, we described a new remote patient monitoring system to track the intensity of specific symptoms in individuals' home environments. Remote patient monitoring (RPM) was implemented over 15 days in a cohort of 133 individuals aged 20 to 78 years, divided into four groups: mild (MG, n = 40), Hospital Discharge Without Invasive Mechanical Ventilation (WIMV, n = 40), Hospital Discharge With Invasive Mechanical Ventilation (IMV, n = 13), and reinfected (RG, n = 40).

Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment are known methodologies for software development that increase the overall quality of the development process. Several robotic software repositories make use of CI/CD tools as an aid to development. However, very few CI pipelines take advantage of using cloud computing to run simulations.

MOTIV is a peripheral variant of REVA Medical's well-established, radiopaque tyrosine-polycarbonate (Tyrocore) sirolimus-eluting DRS. The purpose of this study was to provide imaging and histopathologic data on vascular response to MOTIV in porcine peripheral arteries.

The article by De Oliveira et al. presents an insightful systematic review and meta analysis comparing intravenous tirofiban and oral aspirin in acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients. It has sparked substantial discussions among my colleagues and me, particularly regarding the optimal circumstances for administering intravenous tirofiban in AIS patients ineligible for reperfusion therapies.

We introduce two initial conditions: an equilibrium initial condition and a minimum entropy initial condition, both under a protocol that drives the system to equilibrium. Its results indicate a dependence of the average FI on both the initial condition and path taken.

Background: Sarcoidosis is a multisystemic syndrome of uncertain etiology with abnormal respiratory findings in approximately 90% of cases. Spirometry is the most common lung function test used for assessing lung function in diagnosis and monitoring pulmonary health. Respiratory oscillometry allows a simple alternative for the analysis of respiratory abnormalities.

Design: Prospective multicentre cohort study (Tommy's Net).
Setting: Three university hospital research centres in the United Kingdom.
Background: Asthma onset or worsening of the disease in adulthood may be associated with occupational asthma (OA) or work-exacerbated asthma (WEA). Oscillometry and respiratory modeling offer insight into the pathophysiology and contribute to the early diagnosis of respiratory abnormalities.
Purpose: This study aims to compare the changes due to OA and WEA and evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of this method.

The Brazil-Malvinas Confluence (BMC) is a significant biological frontier where distinct currents meet, fostering optimal conditions for phytoplankton development. In this study we tested the hypothesis that eddys promote an increase in phytoplankton biomass at the Brazil-Malvinas Confluence (BMC), altering species diversity. Phytoplankton were collected with Niskin bottles and nutrient concentrations assessed at two depths (Surface and Deep Chlorophyll Maximum Layer - DCML) in areas outside and under the influence of Cold-Core (CCE) and Warm-Core (WCE) Eddies.

Thus, the unique properties of 3D-printed biocompatible polymers such as Polylactic Acid (PLA) and Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) have made these materials the focus of recent research where new post-processing and joining techniques need to be investigated. This study investigates the weldability of PLA and PEEK 3D-printed plates through stationary shoulder friction stir welding (SS-FSW) with assisted heating.

Oceanic oil spills present significant ecological risks that have the potential to contaminate extensive areas, including coastal regions. The occurrence of the 2019 oil spill event in Brazil resulted in over 3000 km of contaminated beaches and shorelines. While assessing the impact on benthic and beach ecosystems is relatively straightforward due to direct accessibility, evaluating the ecotoxicological effects of open ocean oil spills on the pelagic community is a complex task.

Purpose: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) phenotypes may introduce different characteristics that need to be known to improve treatment. Respiratory oscillometry provides a detailed analysis and may offer insight into the pathophysiology of COPD. In this paper, we used this method to evaluate the differences in respiratory mechanics of COPD phenotypes.
