In an increasingly saturated media environment, this study examines how traditional and social media influence consumer purchase intentions in the fashion industry through nostalgia, perceived credibility, and persuasion knowledge. Drawing on the Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM), survey data from fashion-conscious consumers in Pakistan were analyzed using structural equation modeling. The results show that both media types evoke nostalgia and enhance credibility, which in turn reduce persuasion knowledge and strengthen purchase intentions.

Recent outbreaks-particularly in 2022-along with the rising incidence of Plasmodium falciparum and growing resistance of Anopheles mosquito vector to existing control methods, highlight a critical gap in understanding the effectiveness of current malaria vector control strategies. This article is a scoping review of published literature on malaria prevention methods with a focus on World Health Organization (WHO) outlined interventions in the endemic region of the lower middle-income country, Pakistan.

Giant cell arteritis (GCA), also known as temporal arteritis, is the most common systemic vasculitis in individuals over 50 and presents diagnostic challenges due to its nonspecific symptoms such as fever, headache, and fatigue. This case report describes the details of a male patient in his 70s who presented with recurrent intermittent fevers of unknown origin and was ultimately diagnosed with GCA after an extensive workup. His initial CT scans and lab tests were unremarkable.

We aimed to establish a human in vitro model using human-induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPSC)-derived cortical neurons cultured on multielectrode arrays (MEAs), capable of generating precisely controlled after-discharges (ADs) through electrical stimulation. We optimized stimulation parameters to evoke epileptiform-like hypersynchronous events and validated the model using six approved antiseizure medications (ASMs).

Periodontal disease, a chronic gum condition, is associated with preterm birth, low birth weight, and preeclampsia. Systemic inflammation and bacterial translocation are proposed mechanisms connecting periodontal disease to pregnancy complications.

Despite its increasing presence in agricultural ecosystems, the phytotoxic effects of indium and the underlying tolerance mechanisms in crops remain largely unknown. This study investigates physiological, biochemical, and molecular responses of two L.

This encompasses multiple components of muscle function, underlying biological and environmental factors, clinical and functional consequences, and relevant epidemiology and therapeutic options. OI is a rare connective tissue disorder causing bone fragility and skeletal deformity, and extraskeletal features, including cardiac and dental abnormalities and hearing loss.

This study evaluates the adaptive responses of Cassia fistula, Pongamia pinnata, Ficus religiosa, and Ficus virens in polluted urban-industrial environments. Data was collected from five urban biotopes, including residential area (control) and industrial zones: crockery (site 1), iron and steel (site 2), sanitary (site 3), and auto parts industries (site 4), on the growth of broadleaved tree species.

Objective: Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) agonists are agents used for patients with primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) who do not respond to conventional agents like ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA). This meta-analysis aimed to assess the safety and efficacy of PPAR agonists, including fibrates and selective PPAR agonists, on biochemical response and safety outcomes in patients with primary biliary cholangitis who were non-responders to UDCA.
Methods: We searched various electronic databases, including MEDLINE (via PubMed), Embase, the Cochrane Library, and ClinicalTrials.
X-linked hypophosphatemia (XLH) is a rare genetic disorder that leads to rickets, osteomalacia, and other skeletal abnormalities. Many people with XLH get support from informal caregivers, often family members, to help with their daily living. Although generally rewarding, being a caregiver can be associated with extra physiologic, physical, and mental health burdens, which are poorly researched and understood.

Background: The Na/H antiporter () gene subfamily is essential for plant adaptation to salt stress, contributing significantly to ion homeostasis. These antiporters play crucial function in various biological processes by regulating Na and H balance within plant cells. Yet their genomic features and roles of salicylic acid (SA) in regulating them, activating antioxidant defense mechanisms as well as nutrients acquisition under salt stress conditions remain largely unknown in many crop species.

Prior research viewed high-performance work systems (HPWS) as an essential factor that promotes innovation and performance outcomes as it encourages employee creativity, risk-taking, and experimentation.ObjectiveThe current study investigated the influence of HPWS on innovative work behavior in medium-sized manufacturing enterprises through work engagement.

Understanding the interplay between these variables is imperative for creating conducive work environment and enhancing overall productivity. Additionally, demographic variables such as gender, age, designation, and work experience may also influence these dynamics within an organizational setting.

A structured literature review was carried out to identify publications reporting healthcare resource use and productivity impact of XLH to provide a comprehensive description of the burden.
Methods: Literature searches of the Embase®, Medline®, and EconLit electronic databases were carried out in August 2022 using free-text and subject heading search terms regarding XLH-related clinical morbidities and associated healthcare resource use, limited to English language records from 1992 onwards.
Purpose: An international working group (IWG) consisting of experts in X-linked hypophosphatemia (XLH) developed global guidelines providing a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to XLH diagnosis, management, and monitoring.
Methods: The IWG, consisting of 43 members as well as methodologists and a patient partner, conducted 2 systematic reviews (SRs) and narrative reviews to address key areas. The SRs addressed the impact of burosumab compared to conventional therapy (phosphate and active vitamin D) or no therapy on patient-important outcomes in adults.

Clozapine is recognized as the gold standard for treating treatment-resistant schizophrenia but carries a notable risk of severe adverse effects. This case report presents a 61-year-old Welsh woman with paranoid schizophrenia and epilepsy who, while on long-term clozapine and valproic acid therapy, developed a progressive decline in mobility, cognition, and social engagement, punctuated by recurrent falls. Despite numerous hospital visits and extensive investigations, the underlying cause of her symptoms remained elusive until serum clozapine level testing revealed toxicity, with levels significantly exceeding the therapeutic range.

Unfortunately, due to its strong association with teratogenic effects culminating in fetal valproate spectrum disorder (FVSD), which may include neurocognitive and neurobehavioral deficits, the drug has become highly regulated/restricted for women of childbearing potential. This includes those who have been shown to respond well to the drug and respond poorly to alternative ASMs.

For a subset of our questions, we utilized the Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) methodology, assessed the certainty of evidence and formulated GRADEd recommendations. For these questions, the panelists and methodologists collaboratively framed PICO (Population, Intervention, Control, and Outcomes) questions and conducted four systematic reviews assessing the impact of medical therapy-using either burosumab or phosphate and active vitamin D-on patient-important outcomes in the XLH population as well as the impact of medical intervention compared to no treatment.

We surveyed 43 international experts in XLH to determine their monitoring practices for children and adults with XLH, including pregnant and lactating women. In the initial evaluation of children and adults with XLH, experts consistently obtain a family history of XLH or hypophosphatemia, a history of fractures and dental infections, and assess pain through age-appropriate clinical interviews or caregiver reports.
