Objective: Decision-making is impaired in patients with epilepsy; however, the changes in decision-making in patients with new-onset and seizure-remission epilepsy remain unclear. The aim of this study was to examine decision-making differences in patients with new-onset and seizure-remission epilepsy, as well as the neurophysiological mechanisms.
Methods: This study included 32 patients with new-onset epilepsy, 31 with seizure-remission epilepsy with generalized tonic-clonic seizures, and 34 matched healthy individuals.

The development of high-performance p-type transition metal dichalcogenide field-effect transistors (FETs) is hindered by Fermi-level pinning (FLP) at metal-semiconductor interfaces, which creates large Schottky barriers and limits hole injection. This work introduces a hybrid-contact architecture, combining edge and top contacts, to mitigate FLP effects in WSeFETs. By employing thermal scanning probe lithography and hard-mask etching, hybrid-contact devices were fabricated with minimal processing damage.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAmbipolar two-dimensional semiconductors exhibit electrostatically modulable carrier polarity, enabling reconfigurable electronic functionalities critical for the development of logic-in-memory computing architectures. However, the ambipolar conduction is generally weak and unbalanced, in particular, under ambient operating conditions. Here, we develop a universal nonvolatile and reconfigurable device architecture based on tungsten diselenide (WSe) and delicately enhance its ambipolar transport via scanning probe lithography, demonstrating on/off current ratios approaching 10 for both electron and hole conductions.

However, the presence of significant sneak currents in large-scale memristor arrays results in operational errors and heat accumulation, hindering their practical utility. This study successfully synthesizes a quasi-free-standing BiOSe single-crystalline film and achieves layer-controlled oxidation by developing large-scale UV-assisted intercalative oxidation, resulting β-BiSeO/BiOSe heterostructures.

This study evaluated the effect of pentazocine pretreatment on fentanyl-induced cough. With ethics committee approval, 277 ASA I-II patients, aged between 19 and 63 years, undergoing various elective surgeries during general anesthesia, were enrolled in this prospective, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial. All patients were randomly assigned to one of three groups.
