The increasing scarcity of traditional nectar sources due to climate change has led beekeepers to explore alternative floral sources. This study investigates the volatile profile, sensory characteristics, and consumer acceptability of monofloral honey derived from L., a drought-resistant Mediterranean plant.

This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence and prognostic value of admission hypokalemia in this patient population. We conducted a retrospective analysis of 164 patients with radiologically confirmed blunt liver trauma admitted between 2016 and 2023.

Polidocanol foam sclerotherapy has gained increasing attention as a minimally invasive treatment for hemorrhoidal disease (HD). However, significant variability exists in its clinical application regarding patient selection, procedural techniques, and postoperative management. This study aimed to assess real-world practice patterns among international experts, summarize existing evidence through a systematic literature review, and develop evidence-based clinical practice recommendations.

This study aims to show the long-term results achieved using a combination of transperineal ultrasound (TPUS) and endoscopy in patients who underwent Milligan-Morgan hemorrhoidectomy (MM).
Methods: A consecutive series of MM patients treated between February 2020 and December 2023 were contacted and underwent a clinical proctological evaluation, a Doppler TPUS, and an endoscopic check of the anal canal.
Hydrogen bonds (H-bonds) are pivotal in various chemical and biological systems and exhibit complex behavior under external perturbations. This study investigates the structural, vibrational, and energetic properties of prototypical H-bonded dimers, water (HO), hydrogen fluoride (HF), hydrogen sulfide (HS), and ammonia (NH) - and the respective monomers under static and homogeneous electric fields (EFs) using the accurate explicitly correlated singles and doubles coupled cluster method (CCSD) for equilibrium geometries and harmonic vibrational frequencies and the perturbative triples CCSD(T) method for energies. As for the vibrational response of the HO, HF, HS, and NH monomers, it turns out that dipole derivatives primarily govern the geometry relaxation.

While ILRs demonstrate clinical utility, data on their diagnostic yield and value in real-world settings remain limited. This study evaluates ILR performance, diagnostic yield, and clinical impact across multiple indications.

This case details the successful implantation of a leadless pacemaker following the extraction of transvenous leads in a 72-year-old female patient with a complex cardiovascular history. The patient had undergone a series of cardiac interventions, including a recent percutaneous tricuspid valve repair with a metal clip implant due to severe regurgitation. After presenting with an infection at the pacemaker site, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus hominis was identified, necessitating the removal of the entire pacing system.

Upon hormonal stimulation, uterine endometrial stromal cells undergo a dramatic morpho-functional metamorphosis that allows them to secrete large amounts of matrix proteins, cytokines, and growth factors. This step, known as decidualization, is crucial for embryo implantation. We previously demonstrated how the secretory pathway is remodelled during this process.

Studies have shown promising results for ranolazine in treating both atrial fibrillation and ventricular arrhythmias, particularly when used in combination with other medications. This review explores ranolazine's mechanisms of action and its potential role in cardiac arrhythmias treatment in light of previous clinical studies.

To illuminate the fundamental behavior of water under external EFs, we present the first benchmark, to the best of our knowledge, of DFT calculations of the water dimer exposed to intense EFs against coupled cluster calculations. The analyses of the vibrational Stark effect and electron density provide a consistent picture of the intermolecular charge transfer effects driven along the H-bond by the increasing applied field at all theory levels.

However, PDIA1 can reach the extracellular space, impacting thrombosis and other pathophysiological phenomena. Whether PDIA1 is externalized via passive release or active secretion is not known.

Intentional coronary vein exit and intrapericardial CO insufflation (EpiCO) can facilitate subxiphoid pericardial access.
Objective: This prospective study aimed to assess procedural feasibility, safety, and impact of the introduction of intrapericardial CO insufflation for epicardial access in a referral center for VT ablation.
Aim: Complex anal fistula represents a burden for patients, and its management is a challenge for surgeons. Video-assisted anal fistula treatment (VAAFT) is one sphincter-sparing technique. However, data on its long-term effectiveness are scant.

Brake wear emission is a significant contributor to vehicle-related particulate matter, especially in areas with high traffic density and braking frequency. Only recently, non-exhaust emissions from car brake wear have been regulated under Euro 7 regulation, which introduces emission limits for both brake and tires. It also introduces a standard brake particle assessment procedure which includes sampling procedure and measurement techniques defined in the Global Technical Regulation on brakes from light-duty vehicles up to 3.

This study aims to introduce a novel staged approach for CAF treatment, combining video-assisted anal fistula treatment (VAAFT), seton placement, and other staged approaches. Consecutive patients with CAF underwent the staged approach involving VAAFT and seton placement.

This study aimed to investigate the occurrence, fate, and seasonal variability of twenty-five PFAS in four municipal wastewater treatment plants (WWTP A, B, C, and D) surrounding the city of Milan (Northern, Italy). Composite 24-h wastewater samples were collected in July and October 2021 and May and February 2022 from influents and effluents of the four WWTPs.

Upon progesterone stimulation, Endometrial Stromal Cells (EnSCs) undergo a differentiation program into secretory cells (decidualization) to release in abundance factors crucial for embryo implantation. We previously demonstrated that decidualization requires massive reshaping of the secretory pathway and, in particular, of the Golgi complex. To decipher the underlying mechanisms, we performed a time-course transcriptomic analysis of decidualizing EnSC.
