Accurate CT staging plays a crucial role in guiding effective management of laryngeal carcinoma, as endoscopic assessment alone may not provide a comprehensive evaluation of tumor spread. Consequences of non-compliance to parallel vocal cord plane for tumors remained unexplored in existing literature. We aimed to compare T-staging parameters of laryngeal carcinoma on CT neck in non-parallel and parallel to vocal cord axial planes and analyse degree of discrepancy between them.

Repercussions of non-compliance has never been investigated before. We aimed to observe influence of non-parallel vocal cord plane CT scan on qualitative and quantitative glottic parameters, keeping parallel plane CT as a standard for comparison.

Typhi) poses a grave threat to public health due to increased mortality and morbidity caused by typhoid fever. Honey is a promising antibacterial agent, and we aimed to determine the antibacterial activity of honey against XDR S.

MATERIAL AND METHODS This cross-sectional study was conducted at the Clinical Physiology Unit, Physiology Department, King Saud University Medical City, King Saud University, Riyadh, from March 2017 to April 2018. We included 125 healthy adult males.

Discerning isthmic origin of a large nodule, especially if purely cystic, can become a diagnostic challenge because of thin thyroid tissue in it. We report a case of a 68-year-old male patient who had 6 weeks history of non- inflammatory central neck swelling associated with recent dysphagia, for which he underwent ultrasound and computed tomography (CT) scan examinations.

During this time he also reported to ophthalmology with acute bilateral decreased vision for 5 days. His examination revealed hyperaemic discs, multifocal retinal detachments and choroidal granulomas.

Following surgery he developed fever and right-sided painless visual loss due to endophthalmitis. To rule out its endogenous source CT scan was done which showed multisystem aetiology and complications.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTwo-photon polymerization (TPP) has been employed to generate deep structures using the biocompatible and optically transparent monomer ethoxylated bisphenol A dimethacrylate (EO=6) (EBPADMA) and 4, 4'-Bis(diethylamino)benzophenon as the photoinitiator. The two-photon absorption cross section of the initiator was measured to be 1 GM (1 GM=1×10(-50) cm(4) s photon(-1)) in EBPADMA. Here we have explored a weak absorption regime whereby deep structures (∼300 μm) can be generated in a single pass.
