Background And Objective: Refractory bladder neck contracture (BNC) poses significant challenges after transurethral resection of the prostate. This study compares laparoscopic bladder neck wedge resection with posterior urethral bed preservation (LCBNRE) versus transurethral resection of the bladder neck (TURBN) in managing refractory BNC.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted of 103 patients (2018-2023) divided into the LCBNRE ( = 58) and TURBN ( = 45) groups.

Meiosis in mammalian oocytes is interrupted by a prolonged arrest at the germinal vesicle stage, during which oocytes have to repair DNA lesions to ensure genome integrity or otherwise undergo apoptosis. The FIRRM/FLIP-FIGNL1 complex dissociates RAD51 from the joint DNA molecules in both homologous recombination (HR) and DNA replication. However, as a type of non-meiotic, non-replicative cells, whether this RAD51-dismantling mechanism regulates genome integrity in oocytes remains elusive.

Article Synopsis
  • HO-1 (Heme Oxygenase-1) offers protection against testicular ischaemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury, though its mechanisms are not well understood.
  • In this study, researchers created HO-1 knockout rats to investigate the gene's role in testicular I/R injury, using various experimental techniques, including immunofluorescence and gene sequencing.
  • The findings revealed that HO-1 mitigates pathological damage from I/R, promotes nuclear translocation, and interacts with specific miRNAs and genes like c-Jun, demonstrating its importance in testicular protection.

Kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC) has become one of the most prevalent malignancies worldwide and remains a crucial cause of cancer-related morbidity and mortality. Aberrant activation of the JAK/STAT pathway acts as an important role in KIRC. The suppressor of cytokine signaling (SOCS) family members are the key negative regulators of the JAK/STAT pathway.

Background: Renal artery aneurysms (RAAs) are rare and usually asymptomatic, and some RAAs can be associated with calcifications, which may lead to misdiagnoses as renal calculi, which are then mistakenly treated.

Case Presentation: A 69-year-old female patient was admitted to the hospital with no discomfort and was diagnosed with a large right renal calculus. The ultrasound and computed tomography urography (CTU) scan suggested a large calculus in the right pelvis with hydrops of the kidney.

Bladder cancer (BCa) is the 10th most prevalent malignancy worldwide and remains a crucial cause of cancer-related morbidity and mortality. Circular RNAs (circRNAs), a large class of endogenous non-coding RNAs, contain unique covalent closed structures and their biogenesis and turnover are regulated by multiple factors. Recently, multiple circRNAs have been found to serve as important factors in several biological processes such as tumorigenesis.

Background: In recent years, metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (MCRPC) and studies related to MCRPC have drawn global attention. The main objective of this bibliometric study was to provide an overview of MCRPC, explore clusters and trends in research and investigate the future direction of MCRPC research.

Methods: A total of 4089 publications published between 1979 and 2018 were retrieved from the Web of Science (WoS) Core Collection database.
